Shopping list for next season?

Besides the obvious (Cosgrove), the other Longstaff who has had the ACL injury? Worth a punt?

Wrexham football club certainly haven't made a profit.

How their losses fit with ffp, I've no idea, but I do know that the owners are aware of rules, and that's part of the reason they want to expand the capacity as quickly as possible.

They said something similar about SKD when we were signing him.

Did they? And who is ‘they’ anyway? My recollection of SKD, or KD as he was at the time, was his hat-trick against us at Burnden Park. That one game meant I knew who he was when his name popped up on MOTD. I was quite happy to sign a player with the potential to be a battling old-school centre forward.

Eric Higginbottom. They were sensitive about pronouns even then.

I've not watched one second of it.

There's little doubt that Ryan & the other one have had a stunning impact on the town though AND made a profit on it, albeit by chucking cash at everything to an FFP busting extent.

Was talking to a Wrexham fan after the Barnsley game he’s supported them for decades but moved to westhoughton couple of years back and now has LOV ST, he reckons they’d sell out 30k easily if ground was big enough.. wasn’t sure they would so didn’t dispute it.

Shopping list will be a long one if we go up

Given everyone of our squad has been written off as not good enough on here at some point this season we're going to need a full 25 man squad

Not week after week. They may if it was a cup match against a top team.

There are a lot of football tourists & coat-tail jumpers. It's all fresh & a little bit amazing.

The area has, for decades, been a 'who's your second club ?' land & the two liverpool clubs & Stretford have had a large following ... & still do. Citeh, less so, so far at least.

The town stops & floods with people on a match day. Roads are closed, others clog up & there's a lot of fuss ... but the crowd turns out to have been 9-10,000.

When 'the Kop' is rebuilt and filled they may have a capacity of 14-15,000. So there's a ceiling.

Now, Wimbledon & Bournemouth etc. have been at the top with similar limitations & the current heady rush may bring more success but things will settle and I suspect it'll return to something more normal. Certainly as things stand they will be vastly out of synch with FFP by the end of next season.

If City & Newcastle can sell laughable sponsorship deals as real income I think Wrexham will be fine for a while using the celeb angle to cover surplus wage investment and they can happily invest in the ground outside FFP

For ref their turnover in the conference was over £10m, which would entitle them to spend c. £6m on wages under the league 1 FFP rules, which would put them in the top 3 or 4 spenders. Safe to assume turnover has gone up a chunk since then.

Then in the championship you can happily lose way more than they're likely to want to invest anyway.

Another one for the dream team for next season alongside, Cosgrove, Evans and McLean.

I really don't. I live amongst it.

I'm just not overestimating its longevity. It has a life. They'll land in a far better place than they started but there's a limit to how far it will go.
