Steve Evans you would think has been given promises of some £££ support to make the jump back there when Stevenage were doing ok. I’d challenge that he’s decent at this level, he must be the only Peterborough striker not to leave for millions since Ken Charlery. Quote

If you definition of 'decent at this level' is sold for millions you are right 👍 If scoring 27 season before last and 31 2 seasons before that is a definition I am right. 😂👍😎 Quote

Worth a punt? Quote

Fuck off it is about reacting to how the opposition play. How the away manager know that on 60 mins you will take your two forwards off and replace them with two journeymen, and ater 65 mins your lwb will be replaced. How the opposition manager tells his centre halfs to wait until Both Boltons wingbacks are up front then knock 60 yard balls into acres of space run at Toal and come inside him because he is playing on the wrong side So its all down to the players................ok Quote

Whatever the case, I get every syllable Evatt says is going to be micro-analysed. But for balance he’s not solely laying the blame on players mentality, he knows there’s more: struggled to produce on the big occasion trigger an extensive review Ultimately we haven’t achieved our goal, so that means things have to change We will figure out exactly what in due course we came up short and let the supporters down We do have to examine the reasons Quote

Need to get out in the beautiful sunshine..... Whenever it was said, it is pretty frustrating. He's finally acknowledging mentality issues in the squad, which is good, but no acknowledgement of tactical issues in game when the opposition have us sussed and having a plan B. Someone's said it on here already that he's a salesman, not a football manager, and I think that's spot on. He's helped galvanise the support and will do so over the summer, but the same issues will remain on the pitch. Quote

While we needed to do something at 2-0 down what possibly went through his head bringing Vic and Jerome on to pull it back. We couldn’t get the ball forward. Been said before but bringing Haaland and Mbappe on would of still seen us fire a blank. Then leaving more forwards on ie collins just loses the balance of the team and there is not one single game we can look back to where this worked. Quote
Duck Egg Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 It doesn't look like a new statement (from what I could see behind the BNs firewall) just a rehash of stuff he said both before and immediately after last Saturdays game. Quote

Biggish Dave Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 A week on with all the emotion now fallen away, then while the buck stops with Evatt, he's also surrounded by football people. The club isn't broken, we don't need major surgery but we do need 2 or 3 solid, no nonsense pro's capable of doing the ugly stuff. Evatt and his staff have to be totally honest with themselves. If they can accept this and work with it, they've got enough credit to give it another go. If it is totally against their principles, they have to walk Quote
