The 10 days bit wouldn't seem untoward in fairness.

Fwiw, if he decides he wants in, then I reckon they will accept it, but I think there maybe one or two conditions- not directly football related.

Suspect Evatt has a half term holiday long booked so I don't expect to hear anything for another 7 days.

I haven't voted but if I did, I would vote for another year of IE as long as he's 100% sure.  But not fussed if he wants to go.  Board probably the same.

JDB & CJ were going regardless, so we don't want any unwashed kit left in lockers across the summer.  If CJ is interested in coaching, would give him a chance.

Can’t blame the fans for wanting some change in our formation, tactics etc because the current ones failed in the final game.

The fact remains however that the Evatt project isn’t  completely broken. We still had the best home record (along with Pompey) & although the losses against Wiggin & Carlisle were excruciating, they weren’t against our promotion rivals.

Our away form plummeted after Xmas & we only managed three away wins in the second half of the season.Combination of suspensions , injuries & tougher opponents were legitimate reasons imo.although weak mentality played a part especially at Exeter & Wiggin.

I keep wishing Evatt would be more pragmatic with his tactics & his robotic substitutions .Its very likely he won’t but on balance he deserves another shot at it because despite the catastrophic final game we have improved , if only marginally 

It really boils down to him & whether he has the motivation to carry on because FV won’t sack him.

I think they would, but only if they genuinely believed if was for the best.

I agree with your last sentence, he's not getting sacked any time soon IMO.

I would disagree that we've improved overall.  At best I'd say stood still while the overall L1 standard has dropped (and Pompey & Derby have overtaken us) but what has deteriorated compared to a year ago is that every man and his dog now knows how to play against us.  Of course they can't all stop us, the lesser teams rarely do at our place, but a physical, organised, semi-talented team hardly has to break sweat to keep us at bay, knowing that more often than not we'll concede.

If he comes out all guns blazing and sounding 100% committed - I'd give him another chance. 

But there's been a few times this season when he's sounded unsure about the toll this is taking on him. And if that's the case - he probably needs a break before a fresh challenge elsewhere.

Agreed. All the talk of us needing to burn the house down and rebuild it again are well over the top.

We scored 26 more goals than the previous season , but conceded 17 more 

Statto might conclude a competent defensive midfielder might help or maybe our back five needs a makeover.

Johnston back would reduce the goals against column.

We don’t need to burn the house down but the players looked lost on Saturday. They did not look like they believed in what they were instructed to do.  Something has to change.

improvement is top 2 - so promotion, otherwise go our separate ways.

needs to learn a plan b and c for certain games though and make some hard decisions regarding who to let go

Absolutely agree. But not an entire rebuild with a new manager.

Well if Evatt gets that chance he is going to have to show some major turnaround in tactics for these games. It was obvious that we needed to go more direct after about 20 minutes on Saturday but we carried on regardless.

 I voted for him to go not because I’ve lost confidence in him but that after Saturday he seemed to have lost confidence in himself and the players. No way would FV sack him because he has a contract to 2026 but if he felt he needed a break then a different challenge I don’t think they’d stand in his way.
