If it’s as simple as that how come we finished 3rd we should have been relegated ?  Tactics yes come in to play but the players are mentally week when the pressure is on they  crumble

FWIW I m a "stick with", as the upset of losing a Manager, coaches etc etc and tgen a new Manager wanting to do his own thing will set us further back. All IMO

Like you said, opinions, it didnt set Oxford and Pompey back! Both in the championship now after changing managers.

I've always been about the journey at least as much as the destination - we could finish 7th next season and still enjoy plenty of highs/good performances/6-0 wins etc.  But from a promotion point of view, I'm prepared to write off next season and make the assumption that its the last under IE.  He isn't getting us into the top 2, we've seen the evidence repeated time after time that we've been sussed out in the bigger games, and the thought of another play off campaign isn't one I'd relish under IE. 

I'm going to take the enjoyment where it occurs this season, as I always do, and play the long game of looking forward to the next era under a different manager.  No guarantee that will work of course, but IMO a change of manager/style/players will galvanise the club and fans.  In the meantime I'll just get behind the team and enjoy the games, with lower expectations than last year.

I’d have probably bitten your head off, if I’d read that more than a week ago 😂. But for those who are convinced IE isn’t the right man, I suppose it’s absolutely the right attitude to go into the season with, better than those threatening to pack it in.

You won’t be surprised, that for the time being, I will back the opposing view that I believe tweaks and improvements can be made by the recruitment team, management and players to go to the next step of achieving the top 2.

In the meantime we can discus, debate, acknowledge our differences of opinion respectfully until the season gets back under way!

I genuinely think their is a belief (you can see it in posts) we are lucky to have him. For me it’s the other way round and he is privileged to manage our football club.

Regardless of if/when he goes, there will be life after him.

Absolutely, couldn't agree more.

FWIW I think we can potentially improve under IE, he will surely tweak it a bit in the bigger games, but IMO its a stronger division and so, arguably, we need to improve to stand still.  One "positive" about next season could be the fact that we/IE have lost the confidence/cockiness or whatever you call it, there's an element of expecting to fall short in the big games - just not necessarily being favourites and lowering expectations could work in our favour, possibly!  

And just because I don't expect promotion under IE doesn't alter the fact that I look forward to every home game, I'm usually entertained, the 2nd half of the season in particular has been superb (home games).

A week on I feel happier with the idea of Evatt staying.

Thats 16k “extra” fans.

I’d wager that the majority of the “Evatt out” brigade are from our “extra” fans.

The other massive positive (if all goes well pre-season and we retain our better players) is having

     Toal.          Santos.       Johnston

readily available with Forrester and  Iredale as back up. I genuinely feel if last season we’d had that trio fit together and if this season they fit and ready then that is a massive boost for a promotion push.

I disagree.  Not having a S/T doesn't necessarily make you any less of a fan, loads of reasons folk can't commit to going every week. We have around 5k non S/T holders most Saturday home games, and its not the same 5k every week. Their opinions just as valid as our's especially in these days of watching games on internet etc.

I never said it makes them less of a fan, neither did i say their opinions are less valid.

Seeing City now, can't handle an attack but great on the ball..

Fair enough, my mistake.  What I meant to express was that there's a cross section of opinions across the 40,000+ fan base, I don't see how it would follow that those that bought a S/T would be largely pro-IE, and those that didn't mainly anti-IE.  It will be a mix of both I expect.

IE needs to look at taking points from our rivals next season he needs to look at different tactics for these games I know it's obvious but you have to restrict your rivals we got so close this season to auto a couple of points nicked here and there and we r up automatically we score enough goals
