Oh I agree they’ve both been impressive and we’ve no Devine right to get through particularly with our level of performances but a) if we’d of been given that route at the start everyone would’ve taken it without question and b) if that carrot cannot get the players focussed and drive improvement then there’s no hope

Very surprising.  Just off top of my head, those oft-maligned players Trippier and Eric Dier scored cracking free kicks for England in recent tournaments.  And Bale got one against us.  No logic as to why the current talented players aren't just as capable.
