  • That was pathetic, abject, depressing, slow, inept, cowardly, and utterly humiliating. I'm one of the so-called "happy clappers", but it's clearly time for a refresh.

When a manager is under pressure and debate is raging about him there’s always A defining moment when everyone agrees it’s time to put an end to it. Today was that moment.   anything that comes

  • They simply have to pull the trigger now. A new manager coming in at this point has plenty of time and a decent amount of points on the board to build a promotion charge. We should be right

Yesterday was horrific. Like Wembley v2.

Time to go.

Thank you Ian for helping haul us back but you've hit your ceiling.

Wasn’t anything particularly special tactically from Wigan. Press the CB or keeper with the ball and sit Aasgaard on matete. Forcing us to go longer. The reason Sheehan walks back in is because he’s cuter than matete at finding angles to receive the ball and he’s calmer with it with a man on him.

when we then did go long and it inevitably turned possession over to them then it was only 1 or 2 passes through our midfield as it was outnumbered that then got them at our back 3. Matete was sat so deep, almost alongside our centre halves and Thomasson was going after the ball like a dog chasing a car it created acres in midfield. Dempsey is the only one really with the legs and will to plug that gap

Our back 3 were narrow and our wingbacks up the pitch so one simple diagonal ball to the winger meant panic ensued, then the winger just kept putting the ball quickly into the box, we were all over the place and it’s happened time and time again.

So simple and obvious that even folk like us, who know nothing about football because we are just fans, could spot it.

After about 5 minutes 🙄

Still grumpy as hell this morning.  Contemplated boycotting until he’s gone…..but can’t do that. I was here first. In 48 years of watching there’s been plenty of ups and downs, so my loyalty is to the club not managers/players.  We really are beyond the point of no return with Evatt though - only ends one way now, the question is when. A real shame given the great 4 years he gave us, returning from the abyss. I’m sure he himself regrets not walking after Oxford.  I just can’t understand why even he can’t see that this years Plan B is worse than last years Plan A.  So, until Sharon does the inevitable I’ll just have to keep rocking up and shaking my head in disbelief at watching two in midfield get over run and out muscled again and again.

And no different to last year because it’s exactly what Humphreys and Wyke did then which makes it all the more annoying that Evatt didn’t see that. Maloney isn’t some tactical genius he just knows how to play us.

We don’t have one of the best squads at all. We have an ok squad. If we had one of the best squads we would be at the top

The squad is plenty good though to challenge for the top two

The problem is the manager

He's taken us backwards since Oxford in trying something different with 3-4-3

It doesn't work

After Huddersfield he went back to 3 in the middle and it worked

But due to injuries, suspension, Arfield being shit and not wanting to start Sharples, we're stuck playing 2 in the middle

That said

We could've played 3 in the middle yesterday and we'd have still capitulated

Because that's what we do

It all comes back to the manager

Not trawling, but was talking to a united fan after the game who has been to watch us a few times this season and last,   he was saying that sometimes Santos looks head and shoulders above this level and lovely to watch but a bit of pressure and given no time he panics like hell and this then spreads to the rest of em especially baxter.  Am afraid he is spot on.

We can nail everyone one of em yesterday apart from maybe macatee in thr 2nd half.   It is true we are not as good as last season but yesterday was a mental thing- why ?  Fak knows but surely the club spends cash on these kind of things,  it's gonna be hard to come back from yesterday and maybe this next game could be the tipping point, we,ll see but whoever is in charge come 1st Jan needs to do one hell of a lot of incoming and even more outgoing business.

Oh and any of the nobs who joined in with the wiggin chants,  you are still pricks who need to have a goodnlook at themselves.

I think the players are weak. You don’t challenge for titles on skill alone. A weak mindset will always make you struggle.
like academy kids too many people blow smoke up these lads saying how great they are.

My mates been a to 3 games to see us over 2 years. He always says he can’t believe how we don’t change. We just make the same moves and therefore mistakes constantly

How shit must you be?

It's only 2-0....

And another thing ,    this mid half mini half time when baxter feigns injury and all the team go for a team talk for a couple minutes!   Wtf,  the ref just seems to accept it so he can have a rest,   when did this become a thing?  Did exactly the same against Blackpool.

Tactical init. Schon and Tutu swapped sides after that. Masterstroke.

Allowed or not, it's embarrassing

The squad is completely unbalanced imo.

I know we have a few injured but we seem to have nothing in midfield.

Do we actually have the players to play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 ?

I'm not sure we do and that's a massive problem.

As others have said, we weren't far off last year but it's been completely ripped up, madness.

The problem is the midfield and it’s the reason we concede so many goals. Sort the midfield out and the defence and forward lines are fine.

Not the only team to do it and you almost wonder if the two teams agree to it. I didn’t ever really notice it much as you kind of took as a given with Baxter’s injury history, but I’ve got a mate who’s a donkey lasher and he called it pre game almost to the correct minute.

Johnston and Matete were the main issues yesterday in terms of the goals. But Jones, Schon, Charles, Tomo and Victor were absolutely shite as well. All the subs were cac as well

Disagree with this.Every fucking one of them were shit and that's being kind

i'm too angry to have a wank

Can we delete this thread , it's stressful to read and is doing nobody any good . Everyone knows we were clueless, hopeless lacking ideas , no creativity, no leadership on the pitch , lack of tactical awareness from the coach and manager . Frustration , apathy , from the stands .

It's the season if goodwill , we are meant to be happy , celebrating , with family and friends , not getting upset by this thread .

One thing though , we all seem to agree , we need a new manager

Right mods , delete the thread , gone forever ...

Merry Christmas to all wanderers fans worldwide ...we are the one and only wanderers .... 🎄🎅

I’m a small consolation. Mcatee can go home unashamed for me. Tried and was let down by his team mates yesterday. First name on the team sheet for me

Did Schon and Tutu swap because Tutu put in those 2 eye catching sliding tackles?

He got beat a bunch times aside from those

Well I'm stood here with my fingers in my ears humming an "I can't hear you, I can't hear you" song.
