……..ok, so I’m in a minority of one 😂.  Like you guys I wish these interviews weren’t necessary.  Cringeworthy (esp the set-up questions)……but like it it not they do happen so for gods sake try and make them a bit more inspirational.  I get IE is battered and bruised, but leadership is lonely as Colin Powell once said.  (Fwiw I’m still personally happy to give him a bit longer to get this right…..again prob a minority of one!)

This is for the case me as well. I just read Evatt's words this morning on Bolton News about "sticking with us". I lost count how many times in the article I got angered by what he said. He's so stubborn and delusional it's beyond belief.

Even when he talks about "understanding the expectations of this club" he then says that's because of " all of the success we've had these past 5 years" under him in charge.

I mean you just have to laugh. Firstly, the disrespect of this clubs 150 year history, all the cup wins, legendary players, big matches in the top flight, European football. But no, we have expectations all because of Ian and his magnificent success in the past 5 seasons.

Secondly, what success? Whenever his back is against the wall, instead of being a man and owning up to his failings, he chucks around stats, " I have the best win percentage, look at all our success". What playing in the 4th & 3rd tier, winning a pizza trophy, 2 play off defeats in a row and this season is now our 4th attempt to get out of this very poor league?

This is all what angers me more than anything. That might be successful to you Ian and to no disrespect, but the Burton Albion's, Cambridge United's and Lincoln City's of this world.

But for Bolton Wanderers it's not even remotely good enough!

What's nagging at me I think is we could win this 3-0.  We could even go to Bristol and get a win too ... but then the cycle starts over again and we get dicked at home by Wigan ... again.

It's getting harder and harder to keep the faith in the manager and players.

Anyway time to ignore Evatt and focus on enjoying the game this eve. Hoping we'll have a bit of a reaction to the Cambridge game, and we should be beating these. 3-0 win

We've risen from bankruptcy with a promotion, 2 play off appearances, 2 Wembley trips inc special day out v Plymouth.

The feelgood factor has been immense. Sold out away end in 2nds. Whopping home gates. 

We build a new generation of fans along with it. Check the scenes v Barnsley in play offs. Probably the best atmosphere the Reebok has ever seen.

Oxford killed all that obviously. But we are 4 months in to our first proper shit spell in 5 seasons. Fans are losing their minds, so are the players and manager.

But fuck me it doesn't take anything away from where we've just come from in 5 years.

Last season should've been the icing on the cake with promotion, but it wasn't meant to be for a million reasons. We fucked it. But our time will come again.

Every storm passes and all that.

Shitty or not, we so very nearly didn't have the last 5 years. I've enjoyed most of it myself. There have been shitty bits I'm not denying but it'sbeen shit freefor the most part.

One of my proudest moments being a White was when Parky fielded the youngest ever Wanderers team  against Coventry in 2019 to get a draw somehow with only 8500 ish on to see it. We've come on since then. By crikey we have.

All clubs have a history past is past for me I have supported our club for 56 years been through it all but now all I am interested in is the here and now and I am sick of hearing the same claptrap and excuses from the manager coaches and players do us a favour get on the pitch every game show you give a fuck give 100 % and I will back you but if you can’t then feck off somewhere else I cannot be doing with players not putting a tackle in not being able to defend set pieces show some bollocks for once and Mr Evatt stop feeling sorry for yourself blaming others you are the manager and the buck stops with you SO SORT IT FUCKING OUT rant over going for a lie down!!!

Last season was one of the most enjoyable ones I've ever experienced. 

Which obviously made how it ended even worse.

But it felt like we were a proper club again.

Playing decent football in front of big crowds (including good away followings too).

Atmosphere was amazing at times.

Right now is a bit of a letdown but it'll come back won't it .

I 1st Got interested in the 70s, we could give anyone a game in those days and many bigger better clubs came unstuck, of course we sometimes were disappointed but it never felt like it would last long.

FFW to the early 80s and the place was the polar opposite, no hope, no ambition, just nothing! . Then by the mid 90s we were playing with no fear again, this lasted over 15 years then the cycle starts again.

Maybe not with Mr Evatt but the cycle of BWFC is just around the corner, i might never get to see it all the way but i reckon its due, if we lose the interest now it will be 10-15 years to get it back.  COYWM.

i recall when FV took over Sharon stated there was a 5 year plan to establish us in the Championship.

We are now at least one year beyond programme and possibly slipping to two years.. in my world of delivering projects to pre-set time periods there now needs to be a bloody big shake up, sometimes you need to change things around to put an end to cosy relationships and get people to re-focus,

Therefore not a successful 5 years in my book,

I organise teams of brickies, joiners, roofers, plasterers and so on to meet pre-set targets. I know they will all let me down at some time by going sick, go off the rails and get into fights but I manage fluid situations. I have to know when to put my arm around them and when to deliver a bollocking. 

We do battle with the designers, statutory authorities and even the clients sometimes.

I make certain everyone knows the job comes first and do my upmost best to mold the guys into teams that can deliver with smiles on their faces. It must be years since I raised my voice, i let the rest of the team do that for me.

Not that much different to a footie team.
