I organise teams of brickies, joiners, roofers, plasterers and so on to meet pre-set targets. I know they will all let me down at some time by going sick, go off the rails and get into fights but I manage fluid situations. I have to know when to put my arm around them and when to deliver a bollocking.

We do battle with the designers, statutory authorities and even the clients sometimes.

I make certain everyone knows the job comes first and do my upmost best to mold the guys into teams that can deliver with smiles on their faces. It must be years since I raised my voice, i let the rest of the team do that for me.

Not that much different to a footie team.

Jesus wept. Have you sent your CV to Sharon? You're obviously the next Big Sam.

We are approximately the same age! 😃

My point was although our manager appears to want to big up his success, we cannot lose sight of the fact we are behind where we wanted to be... Yes, there probably are "reasons" or "excuses" all depending on how you look at it but we are suffering mission creep... I am asking the questions any self respecting chairman would ask as we are in danger of slipping to two years behind programme. A shake up would be good... look at the effect GT becoming Captain had.

I think MB's original comment was a bit on the strong side but I get where he's coming from,

Wait till some rival firm of brickies come and boot his lads walls down.

I'll tell you the story about the glazed brick wall to the ticket office one day 😄

Fact is we are at the lowest point of our history.

If you had told me when I first started going we'd spend 5 years fucking about in the 3rd and 4th division I'd never have believed you.

History has a habit of repeating itself in football... ask Mr Neal

Nah, that was this time about 4 years ago wasn't it? Whilst it is shit at the moment it has been worse.

Comparing any job to a football managers job is pretty nonsensical tbh. There are some elements they be comparable but the overall job is pretty unique.

I doubt you have hundreds of people on social media picking faults with every single thing you say and do. There are other clubs in the League actively working to stop us getting where we want to. How much personal abuse do you get on a daily basis from people who claim to be supporters ? Do you have people trying to organise boycotts during your working day and others searching out your kids to heap abuse on them ?

The rewards for being a succesful football manager are crazy but that is because there are very few who can do it well. Imagine after  really shit day a work with people giving you stick all day long you then have to spend a couple of hours being interviewed by local journalists asking inane pointless questions.

No saying we should feel sorry for IE or anyone who chooses that as a job, they are incredibly privileged to do what they do for a living but let's not pretend it is anything like managing contracts on site.

Having said that IE is proving not good enough in too many aspects of the job, every interview he gives causes more issues and this is not just when we are losing his 'best team in the league' comments won't be forgotten.

I’d not thought of that. Think that becomes statistically correct if we don’t go up this time. Statistically our lowest ranked manager ever😂

In your world, do your projects depend on some of your employees playing a sport against a group of rival employees once or twice a week?

But has he declared his team make the best buildings!
