One of the good things about going the game is that your half time comments are just words that no one knows you said 😎👍

Going to give SS a lot of credit today. After about 30 minutes he called Morley over and seemed to be saying about covering back down our left. Might have been something else but from there on we gradually took control.

The half time sub helped and then the later ones consolidated. McAtee was excellent second half but everyone improved.

The worse thing about away games is getting stuck near some prick who kept singing ‘we want Evatt back.’ Then complaining that the team we were beating were relegation candidates. Even when we were winning not happy. Then at the end joining in the pile on with their players.

Hope everyone got home safe their mob in the corner looked tasty. Sure one bloke had a kid with him, left and came back on his own to be very angry.

Surely no one sang that.

Toals the best defender at the club

Who wanted him dropped?

CBA reading them back, just remember a lot of criticism of him after Crawley, that it should be Forrester and Johnston in a back four, Toal well off the pace etc.  If I had to pick a player of the last 18 months, Toal would be in top 3 with Collins and Sheehan.

I've "liked" it, but don't necessarily agree, because only 2 go up automatically.  Brum this season have shown that however much you build, you can be blown out of the water by a big spender.  2 teams could come down from the championship and blow everyone away, add Wrexham if they don't go up this season.  We just want to compete don't we?  Like playing Wigan and Stockport 4 times a season and not expecting an aggregate score of 0-11, that would be an improvement.

Agreed.

Great player

I thought Shrews first goal was about as offside as a goal can be.

The goalscorer was virtually on our goal line when the initial shot came in.

I’ve liked it because think he will.

Just watched it and he's on the edge of the six yard box when the shot comes in. Toal is slightly in front of him.

At worst/best he's level with Toal, not offside.

I have a sneaky feeling it will be this season.

Unless there's a dramatic upturn in form, i can only see our points total  being in the early 70's - close, but no cigar.

Next season we crack on.

So one solitary knobhead is the 'worst thing about away games'?

Just got back to the Shrewsbury hotel. Won’t read back through all the posts, but second half was a great watch. First half was garbage. Fair play to McAtee - he took his chances. I’m not converted but he deserves plaudits.

Randall - no idea what he offers other than passes backwards and hiding behind their players. He shouldn’t be near the starting 11.

Osei-Tutu is an absolute must in the first 11. Willing to run at players and creates chances in the 18 yard box.

Yes it was today.

We were on the row behind. Casino and the scruffy Ant Hill Mob, but they also had Warrington Starlight with them so that was acceptable

I agree on first half, but for last 10-15 minutes we did improve, SS mentioned they had set up differently which caught us out, in a break of play I saw SS speaking to Morley and he seemed to be asking him to get nearer to Murphy who was constantly exposed early on. Whatever he did seemed to work. Second half built on that. It also helped as SS said that after 30 minutes we started to pass to players in white shirts.

Tutu is a difficult one, at last a player with pace who can drift by players but unless we play 4 at the back think he is better as an impact sub.

Really did think that at the time. Wanderers tv didn’t share a pitch side view of it and certainly none of those fancy lines between players we get these days. 3rd tier footy sigh.

Saying that the first goal was definitely coming from the poor start we made. Like we’ve covered above it appears we now have a manager who can see this and swap players out, or change formations in play to solve it.

Crikey. What a loon. That’s wild. Good work.

Very early days but it looks like we start a bit slower an then come on to the game as opposed to being dominant for the first 20.

So glad for Mcatee. Morley and Matete especially were excellent for me as well.

I imagine I wasn’t the only one excited with 4 at the back in second half.

We’ve won 4 in 5.

First half was like an Evatt hangover

Second half SS changed things, we looked miles better for it and McAtee was finally much nearer to that pest who always caused us problems at Barnsley

The goal at the end reminded me a little of the late goals at Northampton, but hopefully that’s something that SS can work on

Must be getting far too used to the early kick offs after strolling about post-game and it was half 8 before we knew it!
