Agree Alf. I am absolutely on board with things but it annoys me the anti Evatt brigade. We smashed teams like Crawley for fun under Evatt and now people saying we wouldn’t have won today but we never would’ve been 1-3 down. I can’t remember a game against a relegation team where we were two goals behind at home so people need to back off IE because he wouldn’t have had us set up to be 1-3 down. I did love the match though and am looking forward to the future.

I have some sympathy for that point of view if we're looking at IEs reign overall.  But this season we've had 2-2 draws here v Cambridge and Shrewsbury (0-2 H-T), and lost 2-0 to Exeter.  We were starting to drop points in the "smaller" games as well as continuing to not turn up for the bigger games.

Johnston has been awful all season so not sure what you've been watching. He was dire when he came on yesterday as well, he's absolutely hopeless on the ball

Johnston was very good at Huddersfield and Reading but let's leave facts out of it

Not every signing works mate. Not at any club in the land, especially for a club fishing in the pool we are.

Both keepers, Tutu, Collins, Randall etc aren't bad players are they?

He's bought in plenty that have or could work.

Markham is going nowhere

Apparently he’s doing an interview with the Botlon News. A bit of information may help folk be less wary of it.

I don’t think he’s done a bad job on signings. Not sold on Randall yet but I won’t say this as I don’t want my head to be bitten off.

Funny how all our players look better when they're just allowed to play and not get bogged down by instructions and overcomplicating things

Ive read that schon, newcastle, mcatee and toal were shit yesterday

Wow what a game of football, it's weird because at 3-1 down I felt that we could still get something.

Today was just proper refreshing, playing with 4 at the back for the first time in years, with actual wingers, terrorising their defenders.

I'm torn between Tutu and Sheehan for man of the match. Both impacted the games in different ways but both scoring. Sheehan sprayed at least 4/5 unbelievable balls and for a small guy, he really plays with his heart on his sleeve. His goal came from his own interception, carried it forwards and got in the box.

Tutu, wow, there's nothing better in football than just seeing a player go at the other team like that.

Seeing how cool and composed Schuey remained and his ability to change our shape completely and no more like for like substitutions. Just a lot of new things we haven't seen for years. We've got ane excellent manager on our hands.

I genuinely can't wait to watch us play next. We are going to lose games between now and the end of the season inevitably. However that spark has come back and it feels like we could do something special.

Regardless, just to sit and enjoy the football is the most important thing. 2 weeks ago it couldn't have been any more different.

Excellent post.

FWIW I don't see how Sheehan isn't MOM, he was at it from well before the 2nd half turnaround.  Desmond, like most attackers, was poor in the 1st half.  Anyway if one of them had been missing even for the last 10 minutes, we don't win that game.

Just on feeling like we could come back at 3-1 down, I do think that's one of the few benefits of being in L1.  If that's a championship match, going 2 down has a feeling of game over.  In this league, especially at home, its game on.  The 2nd half v Shrewsbury was similar, there are some decent players in this league but the defences are generally poor if you get at them and it makes it a decent spectacle when we're behind.

Johnston was plenty good enough v hudds  northampton and reading

You claim the players are all better without evatt but judge GJ on performances under evatt

Would be interested to read that. I’m not at all convinced by Randall or McAtee, who by all accounts have been our most expensive signings. But to give him credit, be brought in the likes of Tutu, Collins, Matete, Baxter, Toal and more, so some decent signings at this level.

We have just beat a shit team that we really should beat

But we have beaten em in a thriller from 3 1 down and its followed by a day of picking out issues

Just enjoy it

Fwiw, i wanted evatt to put morley to CB v Cambridge

So while SS did and full marks for it, its such an obvious move when teams are sitting back

It was actually more risky yesterday, as they had pace

Maybe we had nowt to lose, but a great decision by SS

Well done on reading words

You disputed 1969's post as though he claimed it was a fact? It seems like you're really annoyed that we won yesterday.

That's an opinion, not a fact

Watch the games then you'll know your talking out of your arse again

Little bit harsh on the first one.Thought Tutu was at fault by waiting for the ball instead of moving towards it

Tutu held his hands up and 'claimed' it as his fault in his post match interview.

He did exactly that, several times, less than 24 hours ago. Absolutely nothing wrong with him. You just need someone to vent your innate negativity towards.

Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one. He's no better than Randall Williams, and id argue worse because at least Randall was quick. I'm sure he's a nice lad who works really hard, but we need better than him in that position. He's been a bad signing .

Schon might have been a bit ineffective yesterday but christ he wasn't that bad was he?

I think he's been alright this season tbf.

Give 100% and is always running at folk.

Not much more you can ask from a player signed from the Hungarian second division really.

Agreed, he's done well in some games and definitely an upgrade on Williams.  Not his fault we overpaid for him (he's not alone in that).

He's got decent qualities as you say, but struggles to play his natural game when out of position on the right.
