Watching back the long highlights the new lad from Newcastle is at fault for all 3. The first one a short ball out of defence , second the guy just comes inside him and the third he loses ball in their half. 
 

So we can either just ignore it, tell everyone he is shit or accept there were lots of mistakes yesterday and acknowledge generally he looked good especially going forward , clearly something to build on.

Cogley was slow to cut out the danger on one of the goals. Apart from that thought cogley looked back to something like his best.

Would agree with that.  Right idea to take him off…..and well done SS for doing that even though he’d just scored.  Really torn on back 4 vrs 5.  Heart wants the former, head says the latter (perhaps just for the rest of this season) given the players we’ve got and the familiarity they have with the system.  I also think Forrester has been immense the last few weeks as the middle of 3 centre backs.  Even he was struggling yesterday though.

I’m going to try and make sense of it now.

So we all know we started 4-5-1 (or whatever variation 4-4-1-1, 4-2-3-1)

Don’t think it changed till the 4 subs? 

Did we then go 3 CBs with Jones and Tutu as WBs with Lolos playing behind Vic and  Mcatee?

Then when Matete comes on are we back to a 4 or did Morley actually play as one of the 3 CBs?

Could not agree more. IE could talk about his win % etc etc but what he lost in the last few months is the understanding of unbridled joy of beating a team one of bottom in such a crazy way. Rather than the robotic like for like changes we have seen.

If this continues I might even go to Wigan away !

You know the answer to this one - we ignore his goal and his decent runs forward and demand he is sent back up to Newcastle 😁

I am disappointed though with his tracking back after losing it for their third. If you just watch him, he doesn’t once bust a gut, yet is only a couple of yards off their guy in the end. I appreciate he’d just made a run upfield, but a bit more urgency and their chap wouldn’t have been able to skip through on goal.

There were 3 great examples of making your own luck yesterday and that was the best one.

The sending off was another, the full back didn't have to get himself sent off, but Tutu made that bit of luck for us by repeatedly beating him, and there was only one winner after that.

And the driving run by Jones and cross, didn't have to end in an OG but it was earned/forced.

Couldn’t agree more. Forrester and Johnston have been superb in the last few games and the decision to drop Johnston yesterday was baffling. Toal looked off the game yesterday. For me, this is simply lack of game time and will come. However, yesterday should have been Forrester and Johnston, with the Wrexham match used for Toal’s match fitness. Enough of the negativity. The way Schumacher is bringing fresh ideas to the team and the in-game tactical decisions was refreshing. I haven’t enjoyed a game as much, in a long time.

I’ve long been convinced that Sheehan and Morley (along with the sadly unavailable Dempsey) is our best midfield. Evatt’s love of Thomason destroyed their partnership. Yesterday they were superb together and I hope this continues.

Tutu was superb in the second half, but I thought the inverted wingers hampered Schon. A previous experiment of Evatt’s with inverted wing backs had a similarly negative impact on him. Of the two, I think Schon is the more consistent (though Tutu has had injuries). I’d like to have a look at that formation with Schon on the left and Tutu on the right.

And onto the attack. Our biggest problem was that McAtee couldn’t or wouldn’t play the forward role. He was everywhere bar where he should have been. One minute he was at the side of Tutu on the left, next he was on the right with Schon but, mostly he was dropping back and moving into Randall’s space. Rarely was he where he should have been in the box.

i felt a little sorry for Randall because of this, and believe he was unlucky to be hooked when he was. I’d have brought off McAtee and asked Lolos to play as the forward. I’m unconvinced by Lolos in the attacking midfield role, anyway.

As ever, though, it’s all opinions, and Schumacher’s is the one that matters. What was most important is that we have a manager who’s bringing new ideas, who is prepared to change the plan not once, but twice, during the game, who’s substitutions don’t appear to be formulaic and who’s players look like their motivated, confident and enjoying the game.

That has rubbed off on me and the group I attend with. All of us were bouncing during and at the end of the game. Four of us are going to Shrewsbury … and I can’t wait!

Johnston has been awful all season so not sure what you've been watching. He was dire when he came on yesterday as well, he's absolutely hopeless on the ball

I thought Murphy was poor but he’s only settling in. I feel sorry for him as Newcastle have said he has to be the best player on the pitch every week which he looks unlikely to be.

Cop out. I don't care what division he came from. It's irrelevant. He's here now. Nobody is questioning his effort. It's his output. He's not good enough to be an attacking midfielder. Hes not strong enough or quick enough. People say he's hampered by playing on the right. Good wingers/attacking mids can play on either side. Never once this entire season have I seen go past a player one on one. Cogley was a better attacking threat on the right yesterday than he was. 

He's a weird player to judge. His only position he can play is wing back. He's too small to play LB and would get picked on by diagonal balls. Hes flat out not good enough to be a winger/attacking midfielder. 

And it's not about scapegoating or any of that other bollocks that people say. If we are going 4 at the back, he doesn't fit in to the team.

He did exactly that, several times, less than 24 hours ago. Absolutely nothing wrong with him. You just need someone to vent your innate negativity towards.
