Won 4 out of the last 10 so probably mid table form

They've been playing really well and only lost one at home since September 🤦‍♂️

Spoke to the old bloke who lives next door to my parents this week. He used to watch us all over in the 70s.  Tells me he only ever took his Mrs to one game. Blackpool away in 1977.  She's attended one game in her life. Next Saturday will be my 14th game there. She's seen us win there more than I have.

Last year Blackpool and Wigan were on poor runs and beat us, this year we put the record right whilst they are both improving.

I had questions about our attitude and general effort in recent games against Blackpool and Wigan, but given our situation and their form there is no reason why we shouldn’t be totally focused and up for it this time around. We should win both.

Emotions aside, we recently tore Birmingham apart and Blackpool and Wigan are both mid & lower table sides that we are definitely capable of winning at.

Unfortunately football isn't that simple, when you add our poor last week and horrendous records there, it gives even the most optimistic of Wanderer supporters a big sense of dread.

Would not be surprised to see him rock up here in the summer was at both Plymouth and Stoke under Schumacher

He's exactly what we need!

Seems a decent striker at this level and one to help get you out of it. However the Stoke lot I know rate him as one of the worst they’ve ever seen. Miles out of his depth. Considering the over paid and over hyped shit they’ve had the last few years that’s some accolade

We'd love to win this and Wigan. However I suspect most fans care far more about the fixture v the pie men than our trip to Gloomfield Road.

To bring some context: The last time we won at Blackpool (27 Dec 1977), Wigan were not even a football league side. Thus for the older Bolton fan this is almost as important if not with parity.

Am I optimistic? No. This is based more  on history and consistently nasty experiences in away games v the orange cunts than this season's events. They just always play well above themselves v us on their home patch. We have to match it.

I'll have a go at clutching at straws: Most of Blackpool's form this season has been in away games. They are third in the away table with a record of 9-4-7 and three wins in their last five. At home it's a different matter. They've won only 4, drawn 11 and lost 3. They don't score or concede too many.

Based on the above I'd be going for a rather predictable 1-1, a scoreline we've experienced there a good few times since we last won there. Not the sweet jinx ending result we all want I know.

If you want omens: The last time before this season that we beat Blackpool 2-1 at home in the league was that 77/8 season when we won 0-2 over there at Christmas. That day though we had half the attendees in a 25000 gate with BWFC all over home ends in intimidatory mood. Blackpool fans of a certain generation shudder at the memory. Was anybody on here there that day?

I was there as 15 year old in the away end but can remember the police taking Bolton fans out of the home ends and walking them round the pitch to the away to mighty cheers.

Cant remember a thing about the match.

I was there as a 24 year old (owd git). Can’t remember too much about the game.

We had a game called off at Oldham once early and Blackpool were at home to Blackburn (both where in the mix with us near the top) so we travelled and went in the paddock. 15 minutes before kick off all hell let loose in the Blackpool end and the police removed about 150 and marched them to the Blackburn end. At first you would think they were Rovers lot but as the past us I recognised lots of our lot. Blackburn fans were clapping them thinking they were their own but within a minute they charged Rovers and police had a cordon around them all the game. Anybody there???

Can't say I'm optimistic.

Last 2 games have felt like a step back, with some odd selections.

Hopefully, SS has now seen both the good and bad about the squad.

Hopefully he'll get some spine back in the side for what are going to be very difficult, physical derby games.

We need a fit Johnston back and don’t put that Etete anywhere near the squad ( send him back to Cardiff now)

This game falls into the category of "I'll take a draw".   We've had 2 wins in that type of game so far, Hudds A and Brum H.  And a few defeats (away at Reading, Stockport, Rotherham, Mansfield).   Also two 0-0s (Wycombe and Wrexham).

Of our 8 away wins, Huddersfield have lost "only" 6 at home.  5 have lost 7 or 8 and two have lost 10/11.  Blackpool have only lost 3, we've no track record in recent years of winning at tough away grounds, local derby or not.  If we fail to win we can't just put it down to the "Blackpool curse", a win would arguably be our best away in 2 years, a tougher place to go than Huddersfield currently.

If we’re not going to fall even further behind in the race for a playoff spot we have to beat both Blackpool and Wigan - and pretty much everyone else we play for the rest of the season - and the players and manager know that. History counts for nothing and we’re here to create a new history anyway. The only focus that matters is on our performance on the day so fuck Blackpool - this is all about us.

Yes me. I think the Spion Kop was half Blackpool half Bolton if i remember rightly, but Bolton where everywhere.
