Are there any stats as to the average height of a goalkeeper, as opposed to the average height of a man?

I have a feeling that currently, the average height of an outfield player is higher than the population at large, let alone keepers who may well be higher still.

The average height of a Bolton midfielder is about 5'5"

Everyone knows it's average sock height that really matters

My daughter loved it and has asked me if I can take her every home game , mens and womens .  Job done girls you have another convert .

See you there.  My daughter drags me to away games too.

Also with the away games there are so few there the girls have absolutely all the time in the world for her.  They seem genuinely happy to stop and chat to her, have pictures and even let her out onto the pitch.

Is this the right thread to ask if bb has dyed her hair?

Our under 16 girls were robbed of a league title. They were level on points with Stockport at top of their league. There was a play off to decide the winner yesterday.

We took the lead and the first half was all one way traffic. Mid way through the second half the ref gave Stockport a penalty. That was saved. The game seemed to be heading to a 1-0 win as Stockport couldn't get anywhere near the goal.

The ref really wanted Stockport to win. As the game reached the final few minutes she gave a controversial goal that was at least 10 yards offside. The linesman had his flag up for offside. The ref said because one of our defenders had headed the ball that was fine and not offside.

Our keeper was very pissed off and got sent off for dissent. Whoever else went in goal for last few minutes fumbled the ball and Stockport got the winner.

Our players and coaches spent 5 minutes at the end of the game complaining to the ref and linesman.

Both teams are in the cup final next week at Wythenshawe ground so revenge could happen quickly.

Manager and 2 of the better players (so I'm told) have left. Players tweeting that it's a club issue.  What's going on?

They want equal pay

Are they not on proper contracts, and can just leave when they want?

Only comment I can find re contracts.

But considering it’s followed up with EDL Craig’s comment, I wouldn’t be taking that as solid evidence! 😂

Just reading above, if they don't get paid, and there is no contract, then are players actually "signed" from another club?

Bit of pedantry maybe, but it's intriguing as to what is involved.

At least a couple of the players, play for women's sides higher up the pyramid, Blackburn and Everton iirc so I cant imagine theres any kind of binding contract with BWFC.

a point folk need to remember

the standard is very low

Anybody 'speculating' without evidence that there has been inappropriate behaviour simply because it's a man running a woman's football team has the emotional intelligence of a worm.  I have no idea who Craig off twitter is, but he must know that saying inappropriate behaviour plants a seed. To then say 'not sexual' is irrelevant because he's already planted the seed. I wonder how he'd feel to be outed like that without any evidence. God i hate social media.

I do know (a friend of mine has a daughter that was in the team last season) that Smith was unpopular for a while over the summer, but mainly because the team moved up a level and new players came in and loyal players were moved out. That's football.

There's likely more to this story, but until it comes out, idiots like Craig would do well to keep their gob shut.

Fuck me do they not get PAID

I suspect this is due to wider budget/staffing cuts

it always felt like myles smith was very good at his own PR and seems to get fired quite regularly

you may be right, of course, but it can't cost that much

I don’t, which the club have confirmed.

i think it’s to do with environment. Hence, the player references to “values”; not in a financial sense.

Two players left a couple of weeks ago, to join a rival. Then two more players resign this week, without going to another club. Then the manager and his assistant are sacked!

Hopefully, our captain and star player, who are the latest two, can be persuaded to return.

We have a wimmins team!
