I don’t, which the club have confirmed.

i think it’s to do with environment. Hence, the player references to “values”; not in a financial sense.

Two players left a couple of weeks ago, to join a rival. Then two more players resign this week, without going to another club. Then the manager and his assistant are sacked!

Hopefully, our captain and star player, who are the latest two, can be persuaded to return.

I think there's elements of truth in both your statement and mine.

£35k a year ain't a lot is it to be fair. If we're that hard up then it's a real concern and staff cuts and budget changes are ringing some alarm bells with me, as it won't just be for the Womens team

When clubs start diverting every available penny in the club towards player wages and fees, then things fall apart behind the scenes and it ends up falling apart on the pitch too.

The club needs investment off the pitch. The facilities at the training ground are shit. We're light on the coaching & scouting department and without that off-pitch infrastructure being right, it catches up with you.

Anybody 'speculating' without evidence that there has been inappropriate behaviour simply because it's a man running a woman's football team has the emotional intelligence of a worm.  I have no idea who Craig off twitter is, but he must know that saying inappropriate behaviour plants a seed. To then say 'not sexual' is irrelevant because he's already planted the seed. I wonder how he'd feel to be outed like that without any evidence. God i hate social media.

I do know (a friend of mine has a daughter that was in the team last season) that Smith was unpopular for a while over the summer, but mainly because the team moved up a level and new players came in and loyal players were moved out. That's football.

There's likely more to this story, but until it comes out, idiots like Craig would do well to keep their gob shut.

I know you didn't intend it as such, but I couldn't help chuckling at the inadvertent double entendre! :)

I’d like to say I’m clever enough to have done it on purpose. But I’m not 🤣

Not sure if this is a serious reply or not, but somebody who works at the bean counting side of the club actually confirmed it on here, in person

But if you’re joking and it’s meant in an ironic way, then apologies!

I think the latest player posts put to bed any rumours of improper conduct by the manager. Which is a relief. Bad that's even been speculated about

it was speculated by a guy who is openly racist but people still hang on his word. embarassing really

The captain - Eleanor Seals - is one of the two who left on Monday/yesterday. As I understand it, she isn’t an import and hasn’t gone to another club. She’s from Bolton and is a Wanderers fan.

If this is correct, it highlights the seriousness of what’s happened; whatever it is.

Aye, it is a great shame. After what has been achieved.

Hopefully, it all gets sorted for the better, quickly.

Iles has a write up of the situation on the BN. No idea what to make of it really - suggests that last years team all got shoved in the reserves, but then it's the newer players who've left?

We'll be paying Cissoko more in a season than it'd cost to run the womens team for years. We should be flying through the leagues. It's probably the easiest PR win the club could have so it needs sorting.

Iles' article does state that the BN has been assured that there are "no immediate plans to reduce what FV and the ownership group are currently spending on the women's arm of the club"

That seems pretty unequivocal and must surely have come from a reliable source

So who knows

Who that works at the club has confirmed this on here ?
