Just get a striker that knows what they're doing in this league. Pretty please.

  • Let's just get in the to fucking cunts. No more getting bullied and rolled like a bunch of gaylord fannies.

I think we'll finish above Stockport, yes.

I don't.

Unless we have one or two top signings in key areas.

Saw enough to be positive. We will hammer plenty of teams.

Whether we will have enough against the top end teams remains to be seen.

We just have to pray Dalby is a proper no9.

Couldn't have had a worse first fixture by the way. That's just what they do.

Mcatee is just the easy target because he wears his socks low. The miss was shite but not as shit as fucking cogley mis kicking a ball from 8 yards out. Basically a free shot at goal. But cogley doesn't wear his socks low so it's cool.

Two wrongs don't make a right.  Both poor execution in front of goal and I'd love to say I was surprised by either.  That's not to say they had awful games, they didn't, but those 2 finishes said a lot about their composure in the opposition box and ability to strike the ball cleanly.

Well, they should get mentioned because they're still not good enough regardless

Burstow, Forino, and Toal are all big enough

The second set piece was pretty much un defendable, it was an unbelievable ball and wouldn’t of mattered if we had 11 giants on the pitch.

Yeah there was plenty to be positive about, an absolute melt down on here considering haha.

We'll see I suppose. But I do tend to be on the optimistic side.

Saw more than enough today to think we will smash teams when we click.

Remember - we hit the post twice - should have had a penalty and they should have had a man sent off. We also created another 3 or 4 very decent chances.

Stockport did very little bar the two goals that were their only shots on target.

Another day and we win that game 2/3 nil.

Strangely enough none of that makes it feel any better right now.

We could have stopped him charging through our defence to get to the cross.

Feeling pretty positive after that, Burstow doesn't look fit yet should still have had a penalty (stonewall penalty), Cogley should've scored. on another day we would've had 3.

Don't know why Warren wasn't even on the bench? Making a point to the board to spend on  another striker maybe?

No there poor misses but one is a defender and one a forward is job is to put  those chances away if he did people wouldn’t be calling him out .
If is over all play was good you can accuse the lack of goals but it’s not is first touch is poor a liability when he drops back into is own half giving the ball away can’t tackle can’t head the ball finds  himself off side when he runs the line more than not . lacks physicality

apart from that he is ok and no mention of socks

Got to agree with you on your comment he should have been on the bench rather than bloody Sheehan Mr Slow .

Maybe a keeper who came off his line?

Trouble is, those other days rarely came last season, and it was similar today.

I've no doubt we'll thrash some, but again it's what we can do against those at the top end.

It was quite an attacking formation/selection today, and we created chances. It also leaves us a little exposed at times.

Given our attacking paucity, I wouldn't have minded seeing three midfielders in there today, with the wingers tucking in a little towards Burstow.

Full backs overlapping.

The two wingers we started with have a tendency to look inside anyway, rather than look primarily to go outside.

Maybe against a solid defence that slowed us down a touch second half, and we found it more difficult.

If we can't get round the back, then more solidity in midfield, maybe one taking the odd thunderwtat, just to protect the full backs as they go forward.

A boring nil-nil would have been perfectly acceptable.

Yes, but I just mean we should be looking to whip it in to the penalty area at pace

And I meant they're tall enough for our own attacking set pieces ffs

It doesn't need to have to be as good as that everything, just not pointlessly floated for a 6'8 goalkeeper to calmly collect

Didn’t watch or listen to the game I’m in the middle of nowhere in the Scottish Borders. I’m hoping that Taylor and the lad from Lincoln will make a difference, oh and the striker we still haven’t signed

Thought we played quite well especially in the first half.

Some decent chances for us. Simons and Conway hitting the woodwork. Cogley really should've scored from the corner. Both the new wingers forced decent saves from their keeper.

The two goals we gave away were poor defending imo.

Decent performance at times but awful result.

Dont call Cogley on here, you will get fuckin lynched!

Problem is, this happened regularly last season.

And we said "when it clicks" a lot too.

Yeah, we might paste the likes of Burton etc. but it's this type of fixture which will make or break us.

Plenty of time, I expect a slowish start but if we can keep in touch, I think we'll get stronger.

Listened to the Challinor interview at the end and he admitted they were lucky to be ahead at half time and probably should have been behind.

That's the bugbear.

Just have to be more clinical.

SS has said as much post match.

It felt a bit ‘same old’ didn’t it. Huff and puff, create some decent moments then concede soft goals because the opposition attackers have more desire than our defenders.

That being said, Penalty and red card as we should have been awarded and we go on to win that game and comfortably

Undefendable, maybe. Avoidable, definitely. What the hell was Tutu doing at right back, which resulted in giving away a very cheap free kick?

I’ve been saying it for weeks. We need another right back; not another left back.

Yep.

Unless there was an injury, taking off a full back seemed a bit odd, especially when he was playing well.
