  • Indeed. Great post . I was more alluding to how they view us and being more up for it than us and us failing to deal with it time after time. Same with Wigan. We spent years just pretending

  • Evatt was sacked because he wasn't getting the best out of a squad HE had built over the course of a few years. Schumacher had half a season to assess it, and he's basically scrapped the lot and start

  • Bloody hell mate come on. What's the point if we don't get up for derbies? May as well all pack up and not bother ffs. These games are what it's all about.

The players need to recognise sharpish the assets the front men have. 2 up top inc Dalby up for 20 minutes and the first ball in the box goes in on the 93rd minute

the concept of working the space and getting the ball in might be a completely foreign to today’s wingers but it’s a tried and tested tactic that’s worked since football began

If I am not at the match I will watch Final Score or the SKY Soccer Saturday version. Only twice in decades of doing so has a goal of ours come up on the vidiprinter only for it to subsequently prove not to be. The other one was also against fucking Blackpool. The BBC never even bothered correcting it.

We are never going to win there are we. Lucky orange bastards.

I've never really cared about the statistics, the underlying data, trusting the process, patiently waiting for it to click, etc. because I think it's possible to get lost in it all and begin excusing things that shouldn't be happening

I don't really care how we play, I just want us to find a way to win and once again we've failed to do that

Our backline is genuinely bad and a better team would've punished us

I think it comes back to the argument that's been made before - we're trying to overcomplicate things

These are third tier players, some of them very good ones, and we just need be more solid, harder to beat, and to do the basics well

We'd be much better off if we did so

Summed it up perfectly mate 👍

That said, it's nice to actually not lose there for once 😀

He swapped them over and they were worse on the other side. That actually stalled us as we lost momentum.

That's the type of player they are. They are modern wingers. Inverted wingers.  It's not fucking 1995 anymore. There's no Ryan Giggs in the modern game. They might need to work on the crossing but they both come inside like 90 percent of wingers nowadays.

Thats fine but you cant do wonder shots from 25+ yards every time, we need variety and part of that variety is the occasional cross.

Played 6 won 1 still need to improve those stats

Table should show us having 18 points, such a shame again.

To many hard luck stories already this season so it does not wash could of may be  and all that bottom line is can’t defend

Not being funny but not one player in our team has any goalscoring record at all so why are we expecting them to beat teams? We just carry no threat whatsoever.

Well for a couple of seasons and at least 4 transfer windows we have been screaming out for a striker, what have we got?????

The bit I don't get about SS's recruitment. First man through the door is a lad who thrives on crosses then followed by a succession of inverted winger types.

SS did give notice last season that he fancied inverted wingers but it doesn't make sense to me.

Imagine Morais on the right wing (he's right footed) and Ameobi on the left (he's left footed) putting crosses in for Burstow and Dalby.  And Morais taking every free kick and corner.  And none of this playing them on their wrong side nonsense.

Played 6, lost 1 😅 (just for balance)

Yes Ian, it really is as simple as that so how come our manager can’t see it?

It’d be another thing that makes me question whether I have any clue about this game. If he gets a move up a league, based on what we’ve seen of him, then I don’t know what the fuck I’m watching. He’s not a footballer.

Despite all the inadequacies, we already have the capacity to play a more attacking system at the end than we start games with - usually because we’re chasing the game at that stage.
If we’re starting games with a more defensive setup - and we still concede first as we seem to every game - why not start with two strikers and try to get a lead which would then create more space for our wide men to exploit when the opposition are forced to chase the game?

I'm just bored at the moment now to be honest, and after 4 1-1 draws in a row, not matter how well we played, it's just already exhausting.

I like Schuey and I'm still optimistic that it can work, it's a whole new team and system and will take time.

Unfortunately for him and the board, from a supporters perspective our patience is being more than demanded at this point. When you consider the shite of the last 2 seasons, the fact it's been 5 seasons in League 1 now and that we are 14th in table after 6 games.

We have to start getting wins soon.

Early days for Schumacher and this set of players, but can’t say I’m enthralled by a number of his signings or his tactics.

Still in August and I’m already thinking what’s the point.

They have two feet.

If they can't swap over to the other side, and put crosses in with their main foot then they're simply not that good.

They shouldn't even be called wingers as they are narrow much of the time.

A load of tosh to say they can't do it- they just need telling to do so. Sure, they can still vary it and come inside at times.

Modern game idea is tosh, any fucker can kick it across the pitch with their main foot.

Humans haven't evolved and lost that ability.

I thought he'd be the type to bring experienced heads in and have us organised but it hasn't materialised at all

Said it before the game this inverted wingers just get crowded out . Get the ball swung in two strikers up top drop the 10 role

We've done enough to win every game so far, luck's just not swinging our way. Not sure what the solution is, but throwing the towel in after 6 games definitely isn't it. Each to their own though.

I'm not sure it helps that we keep making changes either

I can well understand there's a need for horses for courses and times where we set up a certain way are start certain players, I just think we might be rotating too much

At the end of the season, the best teams are generally the luckiest.
