So probably new contract imminent or he announces he’s signing a pre contract agreement with Barcelona in January.

Presumably we would get a pittance of training compo  money for him if signed for someone else.

Due a goal, Saturday would be a good start.

He’s obviously believes he has a certain worth, that we’ve not yet matched which is fine, it happens and I’m sure there’ll be some middle ground found. There’s probably some mild interest of questions being asked to his agent which is fuelling the negotiations. 
 

I really hope it gets sorted. I’m pretty sure it will. Even if it’s an 18 month deal. He’s not going to sign a 4 year-er without progressive increases signed into it and rightfully so

I would imagine he's after a decent length contract like these other young lads, but that is just an assumption.

Surely this is the time to start Dalby up top with either Burstow or Forrs replacing the No10 role and beef up the midfield with Erhahon and Simons. I’d also give Christie a start instead of Cogley and let’s give these feckers a stuffing.

Or Burtsow with Forss in behind.

As Burstow drops often drops deep anyway, play either Dalby or Forss as the main striker and play Burstow off them.

Reminds me of the 4 times I can recall taking a fan of the away team to a game, sat with us (or stood):  Spurs, 6-1 win in league cup, he started his journey from the Burnden Paddock back down south at 4-0; West Ham home in relegation 6 pointer when Okocha scored a worldie; Liverpool twice - first when Ricketts/Holdsworth scored (Heskey for them) and we went top; then a different Liv fan when we won (3-1?) and Mark Davies scored.  4 out of 4 ain't bad, but I can't say I want to repeat it, its just annoying sitting with a fan of the away team whatever the score (and I don't do gloating).

He's set his sights on JDC as his new whipping boy. He has an almost religious dedication to there always being at least one, regardless of how they've played.

No JDC is no whipping boy, puts a shift in and tries every game but he is stuck in his ways playing to Evatt system

He cannot shake that part of his game off.

He is suited to playing as a wingback and not a full back

It is about opinions.......Taylor and Firino are the best two in the centre.....Toal could play right back no problem

Our current right back does very little in the shape Schumacher plays

We’ve got a proper right back in Christie so why play Toal in a position he’s never played before? Won’t happen thankfully.

I would play Christie if fit but would have no problem playing Toal at right back because he can tackle and does not get caught out of possession as much as Cogley

Things need to change if we are to turn these draws into wins

Toal does not get in at centre back at the moment.......He is a international defender who can tackle, head and reads a game well does not get caught out of possession.

Cogley is also NOT a right back but a wingback who is ok at defending, heading and his pace gets him out of trouble

His passing is shocking also gives too many needless free kicks away.

Cogley has been ok these last couple of seasons but we have now better and if it means Toal startsd over Cogley i am sure he would do a good job.

If Christy is anywhere near match fit he starts before either.

 

If  we start with  Cogley, Johnson, Sheehan and Randal Saturday we do not win.....Like i say time for the new guard to step up

I'd 100% have Toal right back.
