He may be lots of things, but calling him a ‘coward & pandering to wets’ is just nonsense. But no surprise really coming from a fella who calls folk racist & Muslim shaggers if he doesn’t agree with them. Many leaders , past & present, would er on the side of caution. Especially given Trump’s madness. Nothing wrong with waiting & not joining in. Certainly not cowardly to protect British troops & their families.

Why not, when there is the biggest military build up in the region, meaning the place is about to go to ratshit. Stupid to go in the first place of course, but doesn't justify their incarceration. Wouldn't expect our PM to give a fuck like. He'd rather ignore reality, and pander to the wets. They were told not to go there, they did. And you want our soldiers to risk their lives to rescue them. Tough shit.

Nobody gave a fuck after 9/11 and wanted us to go fist and boot on the fuckers. Only years later it became a stick to beat Tony Blair with. Only a few years after the same folk championed Margaret Thatcher for leading us in to war over an island full of puffins and sinking a ship. The way our economy is right now and the way things are over here the last thing we need on earth is to be bowling into another costly war that the US can sort off its own bat. Good on em like. Get stuck in, but let's us just hold the coats.

Some call it "cowardice" and would prefer us to kowtow to the POTUS and commit personnel to an attacking force, and all the consequences that brings. I suspect those people wouldn't have been as enthusiastic if this had happened under the orders of Joe Biden or Barack Obama. Edited March 2Mar 2 by Cheese
March 2Mar 2 Standing up to a bully isn’t cowardice. He’s putting Britain first. Im sure we’ll get involved if we need to, but for now let Trump and Israel enjoy themselves.
March 2Mar 2 All this “America came to our aid in the war” shit doesn’t wash. They sat with their thumbs up their arse for 3 years and watched a million die before wading in. Starmer won’t be trumps bitch, and has him in his pocket.

Have we actually got any evidence that Iran were close to developing anywhere. Because sure as shit they'll be accelerating whatever programme they did or didn't have right now.
March 2Mar 2 I dont usually worry about these things, but this one has got me pretty concerned. I've no doubt whatsoever the people doing the fighting are supremely competent (bar a Kuwaiti Patriot missile team), it's the people doing the strategising I'm worried about. I've a bad feeling they just really get off on being able to command people to blow shit up.

All I know is I'm on a walking trip tomorrow and a number of the boys have baled out... they've done it before, disappear and reappear a month later looking all tanned and Ally... they never admit to anything

I have read that Israel went for it on their own and effectively took the US along with them due to circumstance. No idea if that is true though. Getting rid of the evil head shed is obviously good but if there's no coherent plan then maybe not so much. Plus it would seem contingency plans within Iran are for lower officers to fire at will which makes it more difficult to contain. Fingers crossed those F22's locate plenty more fire locations and the rest can clear them up sharpish.

Most leaders will lean on people with superior knowledge, skill and experience and give them autonomy to make informed decisions and feed that back. Problem with Trump is that he likely believes that there’s no single person more informed, more intelligent and more experienced than him in absolutely any given topic.

March 2Mar 2 6 minutes ago, Dimron said: No war has been won using air power alone Exactly. Not one where regime change is one of the explicitly stated goals, anyway. Which is why I'm worried that they've (USA) gone into this because theyve started to get drunk on the idea of their own power projection. We know how self-aware they are about memes, shit posting and the power of social media etc... and I genuinely think one of their prime motivators is "fuck around, find out". Nothing more, nothing less. Edited March 2Mar 2 by Marc505

Its possibly an over simplification, but the general feeling I've seen from commentators is that he was held back in his first term because there were adults in the room, ie people who had been there seen it and done it, in all walks of life including military. They're now gone. And as you say, he genuinely believes he's a legendary strategist and thinker. This is why I'm concerned, as I'm not sure where this ends.
