Grateful for an 8pm kick off but I'm at a wine tasting luncheon in Freo (pretty fancy for a kid from Breightmet), if I keep drinking it could be messy. Not a clue if I'll be fit for work on Monday.

If you’re not bending a Quokka into the top corner of an imaginary net by 6pm, screaming DUBERRY are you even a Bolton fan?

Wine tasting ? Arent you supposed to spit the wine out ?

I never seen that in real life, must only be for posh nobs. We went last year and as it's a paid event so they just give out decent pours for any you want. Meal after and there were 6 bottles for a table of 4, like I say dangerous.

That's some peak local knowledge, I suspect that the law would come down on you like a ton of bricks. Hopefully I'll have my pink shirt pulled over my head running round the living room screaming "Duberry!"

It’s a compromise I suppose 😂

Fair enuff , me either but then as Basil Fawlty would say " I wouldnt know a Bordeaux from a Claret"

At least there is food to soak some of it up but if you are anything like me , if on a long session , when you start you cant stop . That little break in the middle might as well be a 24 hour induced coma  .

Sounds more like a wine quaffing than a wine tasting 😉

Used to know a guy who was a bit of a wine wanabee , but he swore by a glass of wine followed by a glass of water . Might be the way to go .

You get all these wine people, don’t you? Wine this, wine that. Let’s have a bit of red, let’s have a bit of white. Ooh, that’s a snazzy bouquet. Oh, this smells of, I don’t know, basil.

The way I get by on these things is saying "a complex flavour profile" "there's a lot happening there" or "tannins on the back of the palate". Everyone's usually making up nonsense themselves or too tipsy to care.

If I'm being honest I'd rather be drinking Boddingtons.

Clearly some bollocks spouted at times, but there are also plenty of truths about certain characteristics.

Same applies to beer too!

Anyway, just seen a forecast, and at 3.00pm, the temp in London will be 32.

OK, we're two hours earlier, but in the bowl of Wembley, the temps may push up a few degrees more.

Not a pleasant environment to watch, let alone play the game.

A game of steady, possession based football?

Drinks breaks every 10 minutes wont do us any favours IMO but bound to happen . Didnt someone die recently of exhaustion/overheating on the pitch ? And with the World cup a month away being played in dust bowls , might as well have them all hooked up to drips on the field .

Out of interest does anyone know the temps for the Plymouth & Oxford games as a comparison ?

Must have been 40 degrees plus with how sluggish Iredale came over for that corner

I don't think regular drinks will hamper us.

The heat will still sap the energy.

A combination of possession to tire the opposition, and bursts of pace on the wings.

Wagons roll. Presumably the Motorways will be full of last minute Smoggies

LOADS of them at Piccadilly. Standard Premium nice and quiet though

The lads in 1989 didn’t have any issues playing Torquay that was a really warm day I’m sure about 30 degrees

I'll be wearing this 93 original, bought it with my first ever pay cheque from a summer job between school and college

I recently gave all my others away to @athywhite1958 when he sent a load to kids in India but there's no way I'm giving this one away

I'm obviously misremebering but it felt warmer than that

Maybe it's because we won

And Crombie's gone steaming through the middle if he can find him.
