Politics - Part 2

Kemi Badenoch doesn’t really need to speak in public more than once a month and she’ll do ok. In that respect, keeping her head down is proving very effective.

Sniping from the sidelines and criticising everyone clearly has merit. 🙃

This is part 2 of the Politics discussion.

Mad Ed Miliband will be in and around the top jobs. Take him away from all that money and spend it wisely elsewhere.

I'm not shagging anybodys dog. I don't mind Ani and the cat but I draw the line at canines! 😁

Glad to hear it. No one does that.............................do they?

I must admit, I’ve been rather critical of Labour both before and since they got elected. He could change all that (I have my doubts) I look forward to him standing side by side with the great leaders of the world. (If he becomes PM) 😊

Must admit, projecting that around the world is golden. English eccentricity at its finest. Keeps them all just that little bit wary of us.

Is that genuine?

If so - this is why I love England 🤣

Yep, we agree yet again. Just needed Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane from the Monster Raving Loony Party in that photo too. Would have gone down a storm across the pond.

How long before the contest for PM will start do we reckon? Starrmer Burnham Streeting ?

No Rayner? Burnham gives Deputy PM to Nandy and Rayner gets Nandys former post?

OINO 😁

It's OHIO FFS. Which game is coming up there?

Things seem to be moving quickly.

Rayner will be behind Burnham I would imagine.

Streeting did once call for her to be brought back, but I doubt she will back him.

Why political candidates dress up to run in major UK elec...

Candidates like Count Binface are motivated to run for different reasons, but their role in politics is a longstanding tradition.

Stteeting's already in effect conceded defeat by saying he'd serve in a Burnham cabinet

In the Labour Party the position of Deputy Leader is an elected post therefore unless Lucy Powell resigns she will remain Labour's Deputy Leader (ergo Deputy Prime Minister) in the event of Starmer resigning and a new Labour Leader being elected.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader are two separate positions. Starmer chose Lammy and the members chose Powell.

Thank you for the clarification.

I am indebted to you.

Thank you.

Probably a good thing overall. I know you’ll disagree, but I think he’s a decent man who’s tried to do his best in the challenging times in which we live. Much has been out of his control globally. Sadly he’s not a natural leader and has been found out on a few fronts with his decision making on things which have gone wrong, and communication on things which have gone right.

I’m not sure what comes next will be any better. Hope I’m wrong.

The headline on the front page of the Observer reads: "They think it's all over."

Sir Keir is expected to resign on Monday, the Observer headlines on. According to the paper, the prime minister "accepts his position is no longer tenable". Andy Burnham, who is pictured playing football on the front page, has been "backed by a majority of Labour MPs", the paper says.

Once rumours reach a certain level they seem to become inevitable.

For me the only good outcome now would be for Burnham and Starmer to sit down and agree the best way forward and leave their egos out of it.

Leaving egos out of it is not what politicans are good at though

One of Starmers cronies is suggesting a GE. I like the cut of his jib.

Might not be a bad idea. Reform are on the way out so an opportunity to expose the hypocrisy and corruption of Farage, Tice, the Tory rejects, and nut job candidates for good.

I think it would be the right thing to do for the good of the country.

Whoever the new PM is needs a mandate.

I think the conversation with these right wing nationalists needs to happen - and as a country we need to go through whatever the outcome is - even if it's damaging to the country like Brexit has been.

We need to go through this shit to ever come out of the other side. A bit like the US gradually seems to be doing.
