If the crime is serious enough to go on register, then can not work with kids. is that just common sense ? I support this government, and I am glad she has said she takes responsibility for the desicion. She should now resign or be sacked. For instance, I was employed in an after school club section of a private day nursery last year. I had an enhanced disclosure done which was asked for at the interview but it was 2 years old. I was asked to have another one done at the interview which I never got round to doing. What is to say that I had not committed an offence from this period? This enhanced disclosure meant that I could be left alone in the room with the children, others working there without one could not. Okay, her own children are at the school - but quite clearly, there are perverts and nonces in the community who may well be happily married with children of their own - quite common. What's more - the caretaker didn't have to pass any rigorous checks either. He's an old retired bloke - and it was him who told me how shocked he was to have got the job so easily. This is about someone knowingly employing someone from the register and this being allowed. This not a system/process failure it is stupid ragging bending of the rules. That way the schools or any other potential employer will not need to check paper work at all. This will save a lot of time in the long run. One of them turned out to be a nonce, but we only found out after the mother of one of his victims spotted him (luckily before her kid did) and informed our manager! Surely the agency should've carried out more stringent enquiries before sending security guards to work in a place full of kids!!!! fair to say the company wasnt best pleased and obtained its security guards from elsewhere!!
