Burndens Bogs Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 (edited) "Lots of positives today" - According to L'il Sam, i think i missed them....... did anyone see any positives? Edited August 18, 2007 by Burndens Bogs
Gumbo Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Yes the fact that we look like we can score goals!
jolly-olly Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 We don't look like we can score goals though. If Anelka is sold then it is bye bye Premiership. There are no fooking positives for me.
Guest The Special One Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 One positive is that next season games will be cheaper
bristol_wanderer Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 No positives, except that they have put a roof on the away end, so those that had to sit and suffer through the game didn't have the added insult of getting piss wet through. It annoys me that he always talks about lots of positives. His job is to win football games and he isn't doing it. He should be seeing only negatives.
White79 Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Give the guy a break if you've ever had to manage staff you would understand. He has to try and keep the team in a positive frame of mind.

If your team aren't achieving their objectives, then you put plans in place to change things, articulate them clearly, and monitor the situation. If they still don't work you take more drastic measures, or they are taken for you.......... Edited August 18, 2007 by bristol_wanderer
Gumbo Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 sack the c u n t s if there not working as for football - well we all know and have said many times, "if i performed like that at work id be sacked" dont compare your staff in football i.e. players to your staff at work, its very different

It's a hard life being a footballer. I get up at 06:30 5 days a week and don't go to bed till midnight (most nights) it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

Happy Wanderer Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Im not saying its right but its different Aye different being they earn more than managers and 'some' have an attitude about them.
Gumbo Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 No other business would allow that to happen you would think
itk_FACT Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I've been away for a week and cannot believe the sea change in posts from high optimism to utter despair. I had lower expectations of us this season (c.13th place and a decent cup run) but still expect us to achieve these. Here are some postives: * Scored in each game * Lee quick to change things & today replaced the 2 most ineffective players early; showed no sign of worry in post-match interviews * All sorts of attacking options at our disposal * Still not spent 'big money' on signings so we must have something in reserve for the rest of August & January * There's 35 games to go and we're 1 point from safety Remember there are a lot of new players. Not all of them will pay off but most will need time to gel. As for Cid, weren't you miserable lot quick to dismiss Meite as useless early last season? We've conceded too many goals but 2 were unfortunate deflections plus there was a goal that shouldn't have stood and a dodgy penalty thanks to today's rookie ref. Don't panic!

Best post of any today that. Been significantly busier on here today I reckon than if we'd won, which speaks volumes about what a large amount of whinging fans we truly have. Of course losing the first 3 is shite - don't need to be a genius to work that out - but most on here have us relegated already and what winds me up is that beneath the surface I detect a genuine morbid enjoyment fron the moaners. Well get f?cked the lot of yer. Be miserable - kick the dog, call the wife a c?nt whatever - but by Christ get behind the lads at the Reading game - they don't need 20,000 whining tw?ts being Readings 12th man.

Don't panic! * Scored in each game ...and we let 3 goals in first game, 2 in the second game and 3 again in the third game! Scoring more than the opposition and not letting any goals in win games! * Lee quick to change things & today replaced the 2 most ineffective players early; showed no sign of worry in post-match interviews. ...his replacements have had no effect on any of the games and his choice in the first place is questionable! ie: Nolan up front today. * All sorts of attacking options at our disposal ....Anelka as scored 2 of our 3 goals and the other attacking options have been very ineffective. * Still not spent 'big money' on signings so we must have something in reserve for the rest of August & January ...no one will want to come to a struggling club! Big money will mean nothing if we can't attract quality players. * There's 35 games to go and we're 1 point from safety ....agreed but once you are in that bottom 5 for a period of time it's hard to get out! *As for Cid, weren't you miserable lot quick to dismiss Meite as useless early last season? ...Cid has been one of the reasons why we have conceeded so many goals so far! I for one cannot see any positives at present! Hopefully we can change things around but we must not kid ourselves over the last 3 games! We have been out of our depths and very poor! Dexter Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Andybwfc well done for saying it as it is. Sick of reading the same shite on here about positives and people saying stop moaning. We were shite and how it looks to me so far is we've got a clueless manager who thinks its fine to play 10 outfield players who cant head the ball or tackle (speed being the exception).

Well said, I wonder how many posters on here have actually experienced Wanderers full up and down history over the last 30 years. As a season ticket kid in 1980 I didn't see the car crash coming. I'm not saying we'll drop so dramatically now but having experienced my team freefall then I have every right to express a concern that even so early on in the season is so blatantly apparent. Its that frustration that drives I and probably many other true wanderers fans emotions at the moment ..... Edited August 18, 2007 by photosynth1
Casino Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 thats FEAR still, folk were bored with the allardyce way, so they've got what they wanted haven't they?
photosynth1 Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 thats FEAR still, folk were bored with the allardyce way, so they've got what they wanted haven't they? maybe ? we didn't choose that, allardyce sort of chose it for us, he'd have fcukd off a long time before he did if he could have. As soon as he qualified us for Europe first time, that was job done, as far he was concerned. England didn't want him (due to his dodginess) and if he had gone to Newcastle around the same time he'd have lost 100 percent of the Bolton fans instead of the split we have today.... thats football I suppose ..
