globaldiver
Just so you can plan next year: Round of 32, 1st leg 13/14.02.2008 Round of 32, 2nd leg 21.02.2008Round of 16, 1st leg 06.03.2008 Round of 16 2nd leg 12/13.03.2008 Quarter-finals, 1st leg 03.04.2008 Quarter-finals, 2nd leg 10.04.2008 Semi-finals, 1st leg 24.04.2008 Semi-finals, 2nd leg 01.05.2008 Final (Manchester, England) 14.05.2008 Would need the day off for final. Get early morning train to Mcr, roam around looking at the sites (sic!), waiting for pub to open. Drink all day in "old town" square (!). Get fabulous public transport to ground. Incarcerated in some hangar while body searched. Win against some spanish outfit. Back to Mcr for late night fun. Miss last train. Can't spend remaining local currency. Go back to scene of crime the next day, to.........work! Or might make a long weekend of it, to really appreciate the sites. ZiggyStardust
Have the rules changed so that we can't play Bayern? 6.08 The 24 clubs qualified from the group stage will be joined by the eight clubs that finish the group stage of the UEFA Champions League in third position (see paragraph 1.05 d). The round of 32 pairings are determined by means of a draw. This round is played according to the cup (knock-out) system, with each club playing each opponent twice, in home and away matches (two legs). The UEFA administration ensures that the following principles are respected. a) Clubs from the same association shall not be drawn against each other. The group-winners of a given group shall be drawn against one of the third-ranked teams from another group. c) The runners-up of a given group shall be drawn against one of the eight clubs joining the competition from the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. d) Group-winners and runners-up shall play the return leg at home. The fact that is states another group I guess means that you cant play someone from the same group at this stage. uefa.COM
