Happy Wanderer Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Cahill In t'sun this morning that we have agreed a fee of ?4.5M with Villa for his services. Hold your breath
Mounts Kipper Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 The Sun are usually reliable, for 4.5 million I hope he is first and foremost a solid defender.
frank_spencer Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Phew!!! haha how pissed off would you be if it was Tim? never happen like.
Pablo Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 haha how pissed off would you be if it was Tim? never happen like. He has been poor lately....although we miss him for the next 3 games now!
Pablo Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 He has been poor lately....although we miss him for the next 3 games now! So you can have him !
bwfcy2k Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 So you can have him ! Why is he out Pablo? Need to change Fantasy Football!
Pablo Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Why is he out Pablo? Need to change Fantasy Football! Suspended for Spurs on Wednesday, and misses Blackburn away, and Reading at home as he is away with Australia!! To be honest, maybe a good time for us.....change it a bit!
Carlos Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 In context, ?4.5 is what we sold Eidur for and only slightly less than Arsenal have bid for Woodgate. Wenger doesn't sign bad players, certainly not for sort of money. Cahill is around ?3.75 overpriced, I wonder what on earth Megson is thinking of?

He's gambling that a few clean sheets will be a return on investment.
HomerJay Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 aye, if he helps keep the ball out of the net better than meite and lubo then ?4.5m could prove to be very cheap. still think its a lot of money though
Guest as Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Hmmmmm....lot of money for a reserve player....jury still out on this one for me. The same jury will agree to cut off Garty's b?llocks if we don't sign a forward soon
YATESY Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 With Villa losing Mellberg to Juve - it is odd that they are still willing to sell Cahill...unless O'Neil doesn't rate him ...and looking on what we signed from Villa over the summer, O'Neil isn't a bad judge of ability!!!!!!!
Its all White Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 (edited) Suspended for Spurs on Wednesday, and misses Blackburn away, and Reading at home as he is away with Australia!! To be honest, maybe a good time for us.....change it a bit! Scratch that was miles away!! A friend of mine who works at the Reebok has seen him at the club this morning. Pablo Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Gary Cahill is English its Tim Cahill that will be away with Australia, A friend of mine who works at the Reebok has seen him at the club this morning. Eh ???
Zico Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 this is the problem we've got though spend no money and lack ambition spend money in an over priced market and it's a gamble, risky etc can't win
Gaz Nt Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Just confirmed it on Skysports news. What that we've got him? N e info on how long the contract is/worth?
medwaywhite Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 No. Just confirms weve agreed a fee. down at euxton having a medical ive been informed, mate of a mate
jules_darby Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Well, it's not my money so as long as the price doesn't inhibit us signing another couple of decent players (ie taking up too much budget) then I'm a pretty happy boy - he's young and English too, which isn't a neccesity but helps as far as re-sale value is concerned. It does also mean he's more likely to be the next scapegoat though It aint just aging foreigners for us anymore is it...
mart32 Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Spoke to a Villa fan at work, his words were ' he's not worth that'.
scoobydoo Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Spoke to a Villa fan at work, his words were ' he's not worth that'. maybe , maybe not but we want him and its now a sellers market
tomy taylor Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 suppose it's the price of young english defenders. Curtis Davies will cost villa 8 million if he makes it a permanent deal next summer.
