When did he last score?

Missed his kick totally against Wigan when it seemed easier to score

Very soft shot against Arsenal when it seemed easier to score

Header over the top against Man Utd when it seemed easier to score (don't care if it was offside or a goalkick the liner flagged for - that was a debate for after the ball hits the net)

I know he is being asked to play in a midfield position but this for me is because his goalscoring is poor and getting worse.

Many on here retain the SKD title but for me Kevin Davies is anything but Super.

For me, it is only injuries that is keeping him in the team.

=@ =@ =@ =@

I'd say the ball was firmly back in your court now.

Your serve and you're facing 3 break points!

marvelllously commited performance - there, im big enough to praise the bloke

partly culpable for goal 1 though - well, from one viewing in the ground when he (again) let his man go

but for sheer bollocks, hes a top bloke

still think we need better, n all that

He was the first line of defence last night, he seemed back to his old self.

Covered plenty of ground to make good crunching tackles and managed to stick one away.

When Makakula went off and Davies went up top, that's when we lost the midfield fight. We needed to either put somebody else up top or put a battler on in the middle: we didn't really have either of those options available to us. Mind you, had either Nolan or Muamba played better, we'd probably have seen the game out.

I'm not sure, if I'm honest.

The first 20 mins of the second half were always going to be difficult.

The home team always has to have a spell of sustained pressure and there's no way they could have played so poorly in the second half. After the initial bout of pressure, we should have looked to get a toehold in the game again, but removing Davies from midfield surrendered the initiative for good.

If, however, midfield had already been lost: you can only look as far as Muamba and Nolan IMO. I like Muamba and Nolan seems to bring something extra to our team, but I don't see them as an effective pairing. I never thought I'd say it, but we miss Gavin McCann.

BUMP!

Whatever, you know he has a shite goal scoring record and doesn't get as many assists as you lot claim he does. Good luck to him, I especially like his goal at Blackburn when he was lucky to get himself an assists off Robinson from his shot from all of 7 yards

Pathetic. As a wind up or opinion.

Another thread that could run and run :D . . . if we let it!

I was gonna find this and ask when it was getting locked after yet another quality performance. But it would seem some people arent happy with 3 in 2 with a mom performance!!

Just like the Anelka thread, I revert posters back to the content of my post.

I praised the work rate and commitment of Davies but questioned how long Megson should stick with him for in midfield when the goals had dried up AND his input and assists over the last 6 weeks had been below his usual standards.

As I posted on Saturday night, I am proud and pleased that Davies has turned it round with two cracking performances this week. Just like my Anelka thread, the player in question has responded superbly! :D

Now can it be a hat-trick with Makakula or is he beyond help?

I just love it and I am claiming full responsibility for the inspiration that Kevin Davies needed to get his game back on track.

I thank you all for the two successes I now have.

Whatever, you cannot back anything you lot say with actual facts, the only point that keeps getting mentioned is that he is a hard worker and committed, I bet all your lasses say you have great personalities when they describe you
