Youri McAnespie Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) I watched that 'Burn After Reading' t'other day, the one with George Clooney, Frances McCormand and Brad Pitt - was quite a good un. Then again I was off my tits on (prescribed, legal, legitimately obtained) drugs at the time of watching. Edited March 13, 2012 by Youri McAnespie Quote

DazBob Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Really looking forward to that 'scary' film that is out this week. Think it's called The Devil Inside. Looks cracking from the trailers. Quote
Zico Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Really looking forward to that 'scary' film that is out this week. Think it's called The Devil Inside. Looks cracking from the trailers. each to their own but fer me it looks like every other exorcism/possession film "based on true events" since the exorcist came out obviously will watch it to see if it's any different doubt it though Quote
Guest Frandsen08 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Really looking forward to that 'scary' film that is out this week. Think it's called The Devil Inside. Looks cracking from the trailers. FUCK THAT. i don't do exorcism or possessed films and i wont be making an exception with this one, i watched 30 secs of the trailer and turned it off. Ever since i watched the exorcist when i was 8 similar films always creep me out. plus imdb gave it 3.6 so no ta. enjoy though Quote
DazBob Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Zico, isn't that a bit like saying there's no point watching any Rocky, Die Hard or Police Academy films after the first one? Edited March 13, 2012 by DazBobParr Quote

Guest Frandsen08 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 It was a comedy? Anyway - remember my caveat... i noticed, it could of been me i expected some laugh out loud comedy and i just didnt get it, coen bros films tend to be hit or miss, lewboski, fargo, no country for old men are always going to be equaled out Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) I thought 'Oh Brother...' was shite, for others it's a work of genius(s) - the Coens must have some polarizing effect, like you said. Edited March 13, 2012 by Youri McAnespie Quote

Zico Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Zico, isn't that a bit like saying there's no point watching any Rocky, Die Hard or Police Academy films after the first one? no, not at all every exorcism film I've ever seen follows exactly the same premise to the point they are almost identical therefore I find them dull and predictable I doubt there'll be nowt that happens in that film that didn't happen in at least one of the following: last exorcism, exorcism of emily rose, the exorcist, the rite etc likewise films like insidious, paranormal activity series etc etc are all the same as amityville and poltergeist when I watched Die Hard With Vengeance I found the storyline completely different to Die Hard 1 and didn't know what was coming next, though deep down I did know John McClane would win let us know if it's any good mind, it only gets 7% on Rotten Tomatoes though Quote
HomerJay Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 i thought it was shite, i had to check twice just to make sure it was a comedy. i thought it was worse than that. although i do believe some such films need a couple of viewing to totally appreciate Quote

Intolerable Cruelty Wanted To Like More But Thought Were Just Alright Really No Country for Old Men Burn After Reading True Grit (I put this and No Country down to the fact they didn't write them) Superb Raising Arizona Miller's Crossing Fargo The Big Lebowski The Man Who Wasn't There Lets Not Talk About The Ladykillers Not Seen A Serious Man Edited March 13, 2012 by ZicoKelly Quote
SpiritofBurnden Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) These are all good-great: The Hudsucker Proxy No Country for Old Men Burn After Reading O Brother, Where Art Thou? Raising Arizona Fargo The Big Lebowski The Man Who Wasn't There These aren't: Barton Fink Intolerable Cruelty The rest i haven't seen, or i can't remember them if i have. Not sure why people thought 'Burn After Reading' wasn't funny. Edited March 13, 2012 by SpiritofBurnden Quote
DazBob Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I thought Burn After Reading was alreet. Not a patch on 'great' Coen films such as Fargo, The Big Lebowski and No Country for Old Men, but still plently good enough I thought. Certainly not shite IMO. There's a big difference between a film that's supposed to be a comedy and one that's supposed to be a black comedy. Quote
Big City Girl Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Buffalo 66 - definitely worth a watch Quote
Zico Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Buffalo 66 - definitely worth a watch don't watch any other Vincent Gallo stuff though - would seem that film was a one off Quote

DazBob Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Watched one called The Broken on Sky's On Demand. Read the synopsis and it sounded good. It wasn't. Avoid at all costs. Absolute toss. Quote
Theboybell Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Watched the human centipede 2 last night finally. some if the actors are very bad I'm assuming he invited his friends to apper in it, but the gore and sick viewing is all there and it does exactly what it says on the tin. worth a watch as its better than the original.
