Just about to watch Drive, it is supposed to be very good

Drive is not great really to be honest. Soundtrack is alright though.

 

Recently watched I Saw the Devil, a korean revenge film.

Talking of German thrillers, I recently watched Das Boot for the first time.

 

What a top film, didn't see that ending coming either.

 

I watched this when it first aired on the tele as a 8 or 10 part serial of 1 hour programmes in the 80's

 

Its one of the finest pieces of war depictions ever made in my humble opinion. i have the dvd of the film version but its obviously beencut to ribbonds to fit it into a reasonable time slot.

 

There have been other good efforts showing a unadulterated non pc objective view of ww2 from the german point of view. If you enjoyed this you should watch Stalingrad, again subtitled but can be viewed in full on youtube.

Def overrated, very much like history of violence in many ways

I still can't decide if I like Drive or not. Cracking soundtrack. Was hyped up a lot by the Ryan Gosling fan girls once released which put me off it.

 

Went to watch The Dictator last night. Not Sacha Cohens best movie but as you'd expect plenty of laugh out Lou moments and well scripted comedy. One scene in particular involving child birth was hilarous 8/10.

Seen it,very good film.Was a bit dubious at first with it being a foreign film (subtitles etc) but it didn't spoil it at all.Bit like an Oriental Schindlers List.

That film (Drive) was utter shite and i'll watch pretty much anything. Christ it wer bad. Did Daz say he'd watched it twice? Glutten. Absolute glutten;)

 

Don't quite agree with Boothy though . . .Shawshank is immense. It's one of those thats gets better with each watch.

 

Not seen it yet but that Prometheus looks like the bollocks. Out Fri i think.

We Need To Talk About Kevin is a great film for people who like films. I haven't read the book though and the author is a girl called Lionel.

 

Anyhow we watched Get Low, which has got Bill Murray and Robert Duvall in. 3 out of 5.
