that 17 is misleading

he can go for 5 million if bolton and cahill are agreeable

he can go for 17 if cahill is agreeable

but he won't be going anywhere for 10, cos t6he deal aint going to be right for bolton

Tis true, it was 15 then it went upto 17 when he got his 1st cap

Don't Villa get 20 or 25% of any future profit so when you add that, how much we paid for him and the players loyalty bonus prob end up with about ?5 million profit.

cahill will not leave for 10 million so you read it wrong

Eh ??

I never said ?10 million!

But he is NEVER going to leave for ?20 Million, that is a fact !

you said a 20 million deal including wages

if you think somebody is going to buy a player for 10 million on owt less than a 4 year 50k a week deal you've been hitting the snack

Then Owen Coyle has been hitting the same snack's as me then, as we all know its ?17 Million, and you cant say no !

I think you're better off banging your head against the wall.

When do we play him if Davies, Elmander, Klasnic, and Rodrigo stay fit?

thing is

as we have a decent squad, you can say that about most positions

at the end of the day, if Coyle thinks he's better than what we have, we bring them in and play them ahead of Klasnic/Davies/Elmander/whoever

exactly

up front is where we are strongest

2 centre backs for me, 3 if cahill goes

and ship out petrov if remotely possible

coiyle is clearly agood motivator

but can he identify good players and get them to sign

for me, the jury is very much out

and before you chuck wilshere at me, he was hardly a nobody and to be honest, in the cold light of day, he contributed a goal and an assist

same as weiss

hopefully the current league position will be an attractive factor as well.

Does OC actually get involved in the spotting of players? What do the talent scouts do? i presume they alert the chief scout to a player, the chief scout goes to take a look and either goes home disappointed or alerts the club to the player. the club send a coach to view him who then goes home disappointed or alerts OC who goes to . . .

You get the drift?

My point is that any player has had about three + hurdles to get over before OC even gets to hear about him. How good, therefore, does he need to be at identifying talent?

A bit premature I think Cassie. He has only had one window in which to business, you cant really include last January, when did he arrive 8-9 or something? It would have been a mad time with everything going on. Also Jan windows can be very dodgy times, panic buys inflated prices etc(Elmander quoted at 20odd million for example)

I agree we need improving especially around the defensive area but I wouldnt be too disappointed if we did no business at all. I still think a top 10 finish is a good season even though it might seem a disappointment considering we have been top 8 all year. Europe could be too soon next season.
