anewman
Cahill to arsenal ?? Be okay at 10mil plus vela and Ramsey on permanent deals so we sign a centre half which takes our tally to 3, then we sell cahill which drops it back down to 2, and when one gets injured??? great vision by the club
Moderators Carlos Posted January 21, 2011 Moderators Share Posted January 21, 2011 may not be accurate as it states that "fellow irishman" piss poor in my opinion! I take it you forgot Owen's game for the Republic? Or were you questioning Stephen Ireland's nationality?

Moderators Zico Posted January 21, 2011 Moderators Share Posted January 21, 2011 What are our chances of gettng these two permanently in reality? If this did happen alongside the 10mil It would be a good deal imo but I would rather avoid loaning these players ideally. All loaning these players does is improve arsenal and does nothing for us long term as they are unlikely to stay with us meaning even if they do improve us were going to have to look to replace them in summer anyway. I really don't want us to become arsenals development centre when were not really benefiting in real terms. We have collateral with cahill and we need this deal to be beneficial for the club, far too often in the past we've let players go for far less than their worth to us and so should be more hardline with our demands. I very much would like ramsey and vela here though but only on a permanent basis. i was like that last season, especially with weiss but you can't, unless you're casino, deny that wilshire contributed in his time here and we did well out of it with our forward line looking flat at times it'd be a great option to have a player like vela to keep us fresh up front for the rest of the season before we look at sorting out a new forward full time in the summer - you never know, we could even get him full time, doubt it like, but I think loaning Vela would do more good for us than Arsenal, if you catch my drift
Pablo
No way will you get Vela on a perm deal, no chance! How much will you need to pay Villa for the sell on ???
Sweep
How much will you need to pay Villa for the sell on ??? I don't know the details of that, but I'll bet there is a sell on clause involved that isn't to different from the one that Sunderland/Spurs struck up over Bent
Pablo
I don't know the details of that, but I'll bet there is a sell on clause involved that isn't to different from the one that Sunderland/Spurs struck up over Bent The popluar number seems to be 20% of the profit. So lets say ?1 Million to Villa, and you will probably still owe some of the original fee, as is most cases.....so you have probably already spent the ?5 Million Coyle will get....on Wheater and his Contract / Signing on fee etc ! Traf
I think it's 25% of any profit from the Cahill deal.

Site Supporter HomerJay Posted January 21, 2011 Site Supporter Share Posted January 21, 2011 linked to ricardo fuller today. sunderland offered 3m apparently, he's 31! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sunderland/9369178.stm very odd signing imo
Traf
I'm of the opinion that a player plus cash deal is best for the club though. A ?10m fee plus a ?5m rated player means that Villa get ?1.25m. A ?15m sale gives Villa ?2.5m

I just cant see Vela going to Bolton on a perm deal, no chance. Maybe loan, which would prob cost ?2 Million anyway. Vela could go to a big Club, playing in Europe, I just can not see him agreeing to a perminant deal to Bolton, I may be wrong, but cant see it. Although, you never know in football. Funny how things turn out, not long ago, Cahill was a future Real Madrid star, and only going for ?20 million....from Coyle himself.......seem to remember a thread, laughing about a ?10 Million sale of Cahill....!!! Sorry Traf, I'm not being funny but just to clarify your thoughts When you say 25% of profit, do you mean 25% of what we receive as a fee or 25% of profit as in the fee minus what we paid Villa
