thats what i keep telling myself.

and to be fair, league position is all that matters at the end of the season.

We know we have room for improvement and in time i believe we will improve but going off league placings at the moment how far can we improve? We are 8th now and if we ever go higher than 6th it would be a mammoth effort. Id say 3 places is the absolute maximum we could ever improve unless we get bought by a billionaire so we are only 3 places from our absolute maximum and some people still seem pissed off :pardon:

most blatant pen you'll see this season

No it was nt. It was a pen but a trip in a crowded area when the ref is on the other side is nt that blatant.

The ref should see it.

The worse desicion is the non sending off which was a terrible challenge, at least he got booked when mavis got done at the emirates it was nt even a free kick !

it's probably the hardest set of away fixtures in that time

perspective required

I second that, If you look at the home form guide for the last 10 home fixtures....

Man Utd 28PTS

Chelsea 23pts

Liverpool 22pts

Spurs 22pts

Bolton 20pts

Man City 20pts

Arsenal 19pts

Sunderland 18pts

Bburn 17pts

Stoke 17pts

We have played six of those teams away and have only lost by more than a goal on 1 occasion! In most of these games we have played very well in spells and have been unlucky not to get anything. OK we have lost a few in the closing stages but how many points have we won in the last few minutes ourselves (stoke, bpool, wolves etc). We have the 5th best home form in the league, we are going through a sticky spell but we have the players and more importantly the manager to get us through it. On the plus side we have got our tough away fixtures out of the way and I can see us start picking up points on the road...

Newcastle

Man utd

Brum

Fulham

Bburn

Bpool

4 of which are in the bottom ten for home form, Brum and Bpool have only won 5 of the last 20 home games between them!

We will be fine, 50pts+ IMO with Sturridge bagging more than 10 league goals!

Worst away run in 15 years but we are 8th in the premiership. Our highest ever finish in the premiership is only 6th too. Maybe im missing something :pardon:

I think everyone is more than happy with the overall league position - myself included and if we finish top 10 or 12 then that will represent real progress for the club.

The start we had perhaps raised expectations too high with hindsight.

My only gripe is the away form and ONLY the away form as i have made clear from the start - he is too open and his substitutions in trying to win the game are amateurish and naive in my opinion.

I was amazed for example yesterday when Muambe did not play from the start to break the play up. I am not saying Muamba has been playing well at all but breaking play up away from home against a top team he would be expected to play surely.

Statistics have proven over the years that you need to be able to close a game up, spoil it if you like and generally play more cautiously away from home.

Coyle cannot seem to see that and there is the concern from my perspective.

At home you can play this attacking open football, we do and do it well.

Overall our away form is not as bad as people think, yes we have lost 6 on the bounce against strong home sides but before that we only lost one out of 7 on the road and that was against Arsenal. There are 6 teams with worse away records than us... bburn, villa, brum, lpool, WBA and Wigan!

There is no proof that playing more defensivly away from home will get us more points, over the past few seasons we have parked the bus in front of goal at most grounds and we have had taken less points away from home than we have this season.

We dont lose when playing the poorer teams away but we do when playing the better home sides. Maybee we would be better off playing 4 - 5 - 1 away to the better home sides and play Muamber / Holden / Mavies in the middle?

Don't go bringing facts and logic into the discussion.

Anyone notice the lack of actual Boltonians at the game yesterday.

I'm sure Casino will elaborate on this.

Happens every time we play in London. Don't the club offload unsold tickets for these games to a ticket agency? There always seems to be a fair number of 'tourists' amongst our support at The Emirates, White Hart Lane, Stamford Bridge, etc.

Did they? I don't get 'offended'. It's not real life. From what i remember i gave up trying to find anything remotely worth reading amongst the pages of drivel posted by semi-literate half wits. That thread sums up the whole site. You'd fit right in over there though...

You're not even in my league sunshine.

I had you down as a social degenerate when you were waffling round and round and disappearing up your own arsehole a few weeks ago. I seem to remember comparing you with a hormonal teenage girl, or similar. Yeah but no but. It was so hard for you to keep up, I got bored with you.

I was polite with you then; I think I was going through my New Years resolution phase of 'trying harder to tolerate fucking idiots' but the novelty soon ended.

So let me make it clear. If you don't like it fuck off back to wherever you came from you miserable cunt.
