miamiwhite Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Bristol bastard City !!! I was at this one (that's me jumping about on 1-08 ) & went there quite a few times in the 70's & 80's & we lost every bastard time I went, a couple of times it was fairly dodgy & then I didn't go the one time we did win. Bastard place. Just looked it up, & we lost there10 consecutive times, & have only won there once since 1907, which was in 1994. Proper bogey ground. at the end of that clip when other you tube clips are displayed,in the middle on the far right is one from kick off on new years eve 1978. it shows highlights of games from 77/78 including bolton v fulham when we won the 2nd division. also has the classic utd/west brom game on it Quote

The match I would love to see is the Newcastle v Bolton replay at Elland Road it was definitley on TV that night but never seen that, the other games that the older posters talk about is the Liverpool cup match in the 60s and the Man City 3-0 in the early 70s I was too young for both but would love to have seen them live. paulhanley Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 This website is basically a list of matches covered by ITV in each of the regions between 1968 and 1983. Some of this stuff is already on You Tube but nowhere near all of it. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/carousel/ITVfootball68-83.html Quote
emus wig Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I went to that game with the old man and his boss who was a massive QPR fan.Very quiet journey home.Frankie had one of those games when he was unplayable.Went to alot of away games that season think we only won a couple! Quote
Carlos Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 What sort of wonder goal? 60 yard volley, George Best dribble, Brazil passing move? Quote

bwfc2003 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 What sort of wonder goal? 60 yard volley, George Best dribble, Brazil passing move? From memory it was a long distance dribble, finished off with a curling shot from the outside of his boot from outside the penalty area, and I seem to remember us being in the main stand for some unknown reason Quote
