Bristol bastard City !!! I was at this one (that's me jumping about on 1-08 :) ) & went there quite a few times in the 70's & 80's & we lost every bastard time I went, a couple of times it was fairly dodgy & then I didn't go the one time we did win. Bastard place.

Just looked it up, & we lost there10 consecutive times, & have only won there once since 1907, which was in 1994. Proper bogey ground.

at the end of that clip when other you tube clips are displayed,in the middle on the far right is one from kick off on new years eve 1978. it shows highlights of games from 77/78 including bolton v fulham when we won the 2nd division. also has the classic utd/west brom game on it

the opne i want to see, and footage does exist, is of us at qpr late 70's

won 3-1

worthy scored what he describes as his best ever goal

now then, thats got to be something special

the chelsea 4-3 and this qpr game were covered by bbc, but not for motd

they were just broadcast once as a 2 minute slot on bbc2 news on a saturday at 7.15 ish

it was always worth a watch if we were in london as we'd pop up quite regular

there was only 1 game and it was always from london

i forgot to watch the night we played qpr and it was just cutting back to the newsreader

casino

early bid for anorak post of the day

My cousin who is a red went to the match that Worthy scored that cracker at QPR but I have never seen it, surely it would be out there somewhere if it ever existed. The match I would love to see is the Newcastle v Bolton replay at Elland Road it was definitley on TV that night but never seen that, the other games that the older posters talk about is the Liverpool cup match in the 60s and the Man City 3-0 in the early 70s I was too young for both but would love to have seen them live.

What sort of wonder goal? 60 yard volley, George Best dribble, Brazil passing move?

From memory it was a long distance dribble, finished off with a curling shot from the outside of his boot from outside the penalty area, and I seem to remember us being in the main stand for some unknown reason

That's the sons of the Tranmere fans that were annihilated in the massacre at Wembley, no surprise that they hate us. :)

They must have been test tube babies, as all their fathers were wankers.

He said in his book, the magnificently titled "One Hump or Two" (but unfortunately a shite read) that there were no cameras there for the QPR goal.
