Givet is on ?65K per week :o

I think I read somewhere that Vince Grella is on similar wages too. Cool name and all, but being called Vince shouldn't justify wages like that.

Despite all the good he did for us, Big Sam also left us with a legacy of ageing players on huge contracts. Looks like he's done the same at t'Rovers too.

I think this might be the tip of the iceberg, the Oscar Perez deal to Bolton was the dodgiest deal of all time, would not suprise me if other bungs now come out of the woodwork,

Very true. That deal stunk to high heaven imo. He couldnt even get a game in the reserves iirc.

without a doubt the strangest transfer we've had. Blessing Kaku was another odd one was well, although at least he got a game or two

Bolton have signed Spanish midfielder Oscar Perez on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old was available after being released from his contract with Cordoba, who play in the third tier of Spanish football.

The move comes after Bolton had midfielder Ivan Campo ruled out for up to 10 weeks with a broken foot.

"We have signed Oscar to strengthen numbers in the crucial midfield area," Bolton boss Sam Allardyce told the club's official website.

He added: "He has played most of his career in the lower leagues in Spain and will mainly get his chance in the reserves and potentially in the first team later this season.

"He has a great attitude to training and with the right application can develop his career in England."

He left less than 5 months later.

What was that geezer called who came on as sub and looked like he'd never seen a pitch before? Round about 2000/2001 possibly promotion season?

Now that was an odd one!

Djibril Diawara perhaps? Remember wondering if he was just given a free role by Sam given that he would replace a defender and run all over the place.

As for Kaku, didn't Jay-Jay recommend him? Fellow countryman and all that

No this guy made a bizarre cameo from the subs bench for just one game I think. He was only a loan signing and it was the season before Diawara.

Are you thinking of the black guy who come on as sub at Mc Ginlays testimonial? he kept falling over, he was useless but he did score.

its been mentioned on here before, Reebok voice give up trying to pronounce his name after 12 attemps

No I remember that game and that clumsy forward but the one I'm thinking of was proper pants. I don't think he had played the game before.
