Traf Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 They're the same person, I think. One of Hargreaves cronies. I just thought he was called Phil. Either way, he made a fair wedge out of the move from burnden. Quote

no balls Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Guess which Bolton Councillor owned a third of the Coaching House. I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say the one who sounded like Freddie Parrot Face Davies on tv the other week. Do I win a prize? Quote

Has anyone actually been in whittakers recently? Talk about grim. My aunt worked there for donkeys selling posh frocks to posh wimmin. Folk who'd pay £300 for a blouse that stank of lavender. Now she's selling cheap flip flops to foreign folk and scutters, and blames nowt but the folk running the place for turning it into a glorified TXMaxx Quote
Carlos Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Very odd, Cnclr Morris sniping at someone on the basis they've never been to Bolton. Yet in stating "Closing the old market hall as part of the Market Place redevelopment was insanity", he's clearly been reading WW. I wonder how Mr Morris would choose to patronise the umpteen folk on here that have said exactly the same? The Beales bloke lets himself down when he says "It’s like the council thought Deansgate can go and it would look after other parts", he wants to take a walk down Bradshawgate, up Newport Street, down Bank St etc. Quote
frank_spencer Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Went in just after Christmas as the craghoppers concession was having a clearance sale, picked up a decent waterproof coat thought I'd check out the menswear department. It seemed to be selling the cast off from greenwoods circa 1987. I noticed a Fred Perry poster and thought I'd get myself a nice shirt. They had 1 polo shirt in a xxl, xl and xs. It's sad to see what I remembered as a kid as a quality shop so badly run it made the clothing stall in bolton market look classy. Perhaps beales have grand plans for the place, but I doubt it if their store in Skipton is owt to go by, it was in the midst of a closing down sale on Saturday. Quote
frank_spencer Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Plus rather than whining why doesn't he come up with concrete ideas? Or like most folk does he have little to no clue and just fancies a moan. Quote

Carlos Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I write software, any noggin can tell me when my software is broken. I don't expect them to fix it for me. Maybe I should try the head in the sand approach? Quote

My mother was saying 'you should go to Whittakers' for something at the weekend, but she hasn't been for donkey's years and still thinks it's a class establishment. In fact she was probably one of Smiff's aunty's regulars years ago! Quote
