Guest Blixa Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I don't know. I don't know our budget, who is available and who would come. The club does. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 A young scottish manager with one good season in the Championship, will we ever learn from our mistakes? He will get my full support whilst he is our manager, just have a feeling this will end up with another 'promising' manager's career in tatters.. Don't forget he's an ex-forward to boot, and he dresses to the left There's a ready made chant for all the naysayers... "Are you Coyle in disguise?" Quote
Smiffs Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 (edited) The poster on that link who said " He is Still Tactically inept" was the one that sent a shiver down my spine. Think this appointment will spell the end of the fat prick from Leigh. Dont blame me, I'm not choosing him!! It's not Smiffs fault Whoops, didnt see that! Edited October 23, 2012 by Smiffs Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Paulo Di Canio - A f*cking circus sideshow! Great for the media, not so much for supporters of the club managed I'd say. I bet kicking Tyrone Mears up the arse and shoving him down the tunnel would make him into a world-beater. I wouldn't have minded Jimmy but I think the players need a new broom after the lax Coyle regime. Di Canio would be going too far however IMO. Quote
lrevolution Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I know it's hard to compare this but, win percentages; Coyle 41.99% (33.33% at Bolton) Freedman 35.56% Di Canio 60% Phillips 100% Even though I'm still a bit bewildered about his appointment, I'll get fully behind him and the team. Hopefully we can kick on and put a good run together. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I'd defer judgement on Di Canio - I think his record speaks more of Swindon as a unit. There's nowt to do but support the appointment now... One thing is certain, it could've been worse - Mick McCarthy, Billy Davies to name two...(cue McCarthyites asking "Why?" - because he'd have polarized the support from the start, that's why ) Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 (edited) Perhaps Garty took one look at our shortlist and decided there and then not to appoint anyone on it. Wasn't Dougie only added to the poll very late in the day? Perhaps he employed that agent fella again to search high and low, and he found the right man, who he also, coincidentally, represented (like Mogscum) Edited October 23, 2012 by Youri McAnespie Quote
lrevolution Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 agreed with that, mccarthy or davies wouldn't have been the right appointments whatsoever. if we can look as organised as freedman's palace did at the reebok, then there's no doubt we'll be heading in the right direction. Quote

lrevolution Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Palace paper reporting that Lennie Lawrence & Curtis Fleming taking charge of their game tonight at Oakwell. Ji Sam Ju part of the first team coaching staff? Quote
Traf Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Freedman as manager? As the yoof would say: meh! It's a pretty uninspiring appointment, but I'll back him if he gets the job. ABC, eh, lads? Quote
captainmed Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Absolutely staggered by this impending appointment. Betting is now suspended so it would appear to be true. Even C said "What do we want him for?" Nuff said. Mid table mediocrity beckons i fear. Its time Gartside went - Lee, Megson, Coyle and now this. Quote
radcliffe white Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 if it goes through then good luck dougie you will need it with our fans, see palace fans are saying he is not all that and they have only just started doing ok think its just sour grapes that hes going as alot of people press wise consider palace a bigger club Quote
passmosster Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 yet sat 4th in the table, compared to 16th Last year Palace were third after 14 games and ended up 17th. A bit Coylesque if you ask me. Quote
Sweep Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Absolutely staggered by this impending appointment. Its time Gartside went - Lee, Megson, Coyle and now this. Why don't we wait until he arrives and then give him a chance, radical thinking I know, but why not? Quote
Flannel Truscott Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Stick me in the bewildered camp too. I really need to know if Curtis has a hand in this anywhere. Things may begin to make sense if there is a link. Where's this link come from? Sure I've read he doesn't have an agent and never had one as a player? Quote
Guest Frandsen08 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Last year Palace were third after 14 games and ended up 17th. A bit Coylesque if you ask me. i was referring to a point that someone said crystal palace had the worst defensive record in the league, but yet higher than us. Quote
mickbrown Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Where's this link come from? Sure I've read he doesn't have an agent and never had one as a player? That Palace messageboard that was linked somewhere on here. Might well be bollox. Quote
clown Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Nonplussed seems to be a good word to use. Will all depend on results, which is probably how it should be. Quote
dirty barsteward Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I have heard Little Sammy will remain as first team coach working along side Dougie. If that's confirmed? I will be pretty happy with this. Quote

He's got to be given a chance. Don't think he's been chosen on a wing and a pray. Edited October 23, 2012 by waffer cup 07 Quote
gonzo Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Why don't we wait until he arrives and then give him a chance, radical thinking I know, but why not? That just crazy talk mate...lets hound him out before he starts. Like Zico hinted at,we are a championship club, attracting a top manager without a massive budget is nigh on impossible. OGS led the polls, but jesus christ folk are moaning this is a gamble?...what the fuck would you of called that. Its looking like the mans got the job, youve spent the spent the last year moaning to get the last fella out,now some fuckers are moaning about the new man coming in... Who the fuck did you want?? I say everybody shut the fuck and get behind this fella, because moaning will get us nowhere. If you expect failure, failure will be inevitable. Get a bloody grip you pesimistic fuck sticks. Quote
dirty barsteward Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 According to this he has already signed a contract this afternoon....... http://www.croydonguardian.co.uk/sport/eagleeye/10001781._/ Quote
