Take Hunt Off Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 very nervous about this appointment .......................Garside seems to be playing Billy Big pants again by poaching someone elses manager shades of OC & Burnley , dont think we need to panic like this ..................give GP & the boys four more games at least We dont want another bunch of backroom hangers on Quote
Guest Blixa Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 What happened to Coyle? He got us relegated and still kept his job for months after, until we were near the foot of the next division down in fact. Not exactly turfed out in days... Quote

A lot less compo to deal with right now. Quote
KP Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Not entirely sure what to make of it, I haven't seen enough of Palace to make a judgement, but I will certainly give the guy plenty of backing if he does decide to make the switch. Quote
Traf Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Freedman will be a cunt, I just know it. Dougie Donnelly is a cunt. Dougie is a cunt . Dougie Freedman will be a cunt. Quote
Happy Wanderer Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I fear this may be another backward step if it comes off. Quote

mickbrown Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 What road is that? The road where we employed a bloke to find us a manager and surprise surprise, he turned up with one of his clients Quote
Carlos Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 What's Freedman's catalogue of achievements? Quote
DazBob Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 The road where we employed a bloke to find us a manager and surprise surprise, he turned up with one of his clients Some would say Megson did a decent job here. I think there's little doubt that Curtis's choice did a better job than his replacement who was the fans' choice. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 What's Freedman's catalogue of achievements? I'm waiting for the classic phrase 'those who know football...' Quote
Traf Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 What's Freedman's catalogue of achievements? Like it. (especially the lingerie section ) Quote
superjohnmcginlay Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 so it says talks will start on weds, Surely that sa smokescreen, how can he be in charge of them and agree to talk to us with games tomoz night? Quote
Hutch Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Underwhelmed I wanted Big Mick I bet DF doesn't like a drink.... Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I'm fuming about this Possible appointment there remains more questions than answers why is Curtis involved again? Sounds dodgy to me another fat cheque for him, does he contribute to gartsides pension? What criteria has been used in selecting Freeman? He has no experience or track record of success anywhere at any level. What's going to happen to our quality coaching staff when he grafts his coaching team onto our coaching staff, this is the mother of all fuck ups and Gartside is negligent yet again it's scandalous. bwfc87 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 We surely must tell Freedman to fuck off if he wants to bring his own coaching staff. Quote

ex_midlandwhite Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I'm just relieved that it seems we aren't going to pick someone off the tried and failed managerial merry go round, McCarthy, McLeish, Holloway, Souness. Still not sure that Freedman should come to us and will genuinely feel a bit sorry for Palace fans as he is something good to them. The future for us has to be based around a better youth structure, Coyle has gone some way to doing this giving some chances to younger lads (though I'd have liked to have seen more of Riley) so maybe Gartside sees Dougie as the manager that can build on it. I assume this will mean keeping Phillips and Lee in their pre caretaker roles that they seem to have been doing well in. Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 My vote was for Keith Hill, but he doesn't seem to have been considered. I don't want McCarthy, and of the others approached, they don't have much more experience than our Jim, so I'd stick with him. It's no more of a gamble than DF or OGS. Admittedly, nil points at Wolves and Boro could test that view though. Quote

All four you mentioned at least have had some amount of success and have vastly more experience than Freeman and I would only prefer him in front of Mcleish. Quote
