tomski Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 But if he lets him out on loan - we are a striker short until the end of the season have we given up on the play offs? Or he may want rid to bring one on. Who knows? Quote
DazBob Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) But if he lets him out on loan - we are a striker short until the end of the season have we given up on the play offs? Maybe letting Davies go out on loan frees up some funds to bring someone else in who Dougie thinks may be more effective. Maybe. I don't know Dougie's thinking. I suspect you don't either? Edit: Tomski and his pesky fast fingers. Edited March 26, 2013 by DazBob Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 SKD and the club decide it's time he moves on to another club, BWFC promise to help tie up any loose affairs that the Davies's have in Bolton, then, just this evening, this picture was taken... Fucking swinging brick that man Quote
jonnycooper Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Player that has been a truly great servant to the club, 'fuck him, he's been well paid, past his best blah blah blah'. Player who has been paid big for bucks for one season to end his career 'legend, privelege to watch him, can't believe he played for our club'. Yes Davies got well paid, but he was loyal, more than the 10k supporters we have lost since he joined our club. No argument with letting him go, but he deserved better than this. The 10k supporters were paying to watch dross,Of course he was loyal and his bank Manager agree,s too. Quote
Big E Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I don't hate the club or Kevin Davies. Just think his departure could have been better handled. It's funny how we are totally sentimental about players the vast majority of us have never seen (Lofthouse et al), and have been singing songs about a basically bit-part player who got very ill but got better, but any player in the modern era who has given his all but leaves just gets nothing but 'oh well fuck em' ....and we've really done better without Nolan, Jaskaaleinen, and before then McGinley ('he's finished') .. The player wants a new contract. The club don't want to give him one. He has been given the opportunity to find a new club whilst still being in work until June 30th. What more do you want them to do? Quote

Don't recall Davies calling for Allardyce out, then wanting Lee, then booing him, then booing Megson before he had ever managed a team, then booing him out, then cheering on Coyle, then booing him, then cheering Freedman, then booing him, now un-booing him, but will be booing him if we don't beat Charlton.. Let him go, offer a testimonial. Yes, on purely business terms you are quite right. But when we 'proper' football supporters decide our club is nothing more than a cold business machine we may as well pack it in and buy our Barcelona shirts.. Quote

What makes a player entitled to a testimonial? I will give you 100 pounds if he doesn't / hasn't been offered a charity match. Remember it is the "proper supporters" of the club who would only turn out ina few thousand for a testimonial despite or the ramblings today Quote
Mona Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Jesus , if you think sordell and c Davies are the answers to our prayers, then we are definitely in the mire C Davies is on a par with that fat brazilian we had, worse Can't work with his back to goal , no aerial ability at all, no pace, no awareness If we keep him and lose SKD, then I seriously doubt DF's ability as a manager Sordell is in and out, no consistency, confidence player, and not what I want as our main striker Ngog works too hard chasing back, not a natural goal scorer , so where does that leave us And for gods sake don't say Eaves...... Give him his charity bash. Is all I'm saying. He's not the future, I don't disgree with that. If nobody goes, fair enough, just seems bad PR in the extreme to me. Makes us look spiteful, if what he has said is true, which of course I don't know, I fully concede. Just give him a dignified get-out, if he then chooses to go on loan for the rest of the season then he club can say well, he chose to leave. Quote

Read DF's comments on SKD in the BEN Calls him a legend Decision made now out of "respect" for him, so he can find another club Another article says he may still get a testimonial He's hardly been turfed out on his ear Quote

Why extend for the sake of it when he will get a charity match Well he went on record today saying that was the case, again, I am not party to his contract negotiations. Just think we should be at least seen to be doing the right thing. Calls his bluff if it isn't true. And tbf if it wasn't the case I suspect the club might have mentioned it today. You're being very hard-faced about this E, first time I met you was after the game in Munich... Davies was part of the best times we have had in living memory, he deserves some respect for that IMHO, let him go, no problem, but let's not make ourselves look twats. Quote
