BOWTUN BAKED Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 The same players were good enough to finish 7th last season. We should be doing better and that starts with the manager. Has anybody ever told you you're an idiot? Quote
Casino Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I think a big part of our problems are DF stupid formations 4-1-3-1-1 today what a load of bollocks he's not Mourinhio and the players certainly not Chelsea standard, last 20 minutes we went 4-4-2 and looked more dangerous take the hint Douglas. we also look more likely to concede i reckon douglas has come to the conclusion we can't play 4-4-2 with knight/mills/wheater as the centrebacks maybe he feels we can get away with it with the quicker ream it'll be interesting to see tuesdays team when presumably medo and beckford will be available for selection Quote

Casino Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 2 million of it went on spearing who was in the team last season, so that wasn't spent on 'strengthening' it was spent on standing still Quote
COYW Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 If the manager thought that a centre half was a priority, he should have signed one. Don't forget that we've also shelled out for Hall, who has barely played and a couple of youngsters, who probably won't play for the first team this season. He could have used that money to buy a centre half. Or he could have kept Ricketts... or played Baptiste there. The buck stops with Freedman. Quote

Astley White Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Its glaringly obvious we need a CB who is decent but Dougie couldnt sign another as we have 4 highly paid CBs on our books and 5 if u include Baptiste. He could only sign if we shipped one out - but noone wants them or wants to pay the money they are on - so we've ended up stuck with them. Can't blame Dougie as he didnt sign any of them (excluding Baptiste) - these are Coyle's problems he left behind. Quote

smeghead83 Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I noticed yesterday that our counter attack is far too slow. Our movement as a team is far too wooden, players not creating space to receive a pass when moving the ball forward. Only 1 gial at home is pretty worrying. Quote

Again there were not many complaints from us fans when we signed the likes of Mills, Ream, Wheater etc. I'm still sticking with my cursed theory, half decent players come here and turn to shit. Dougie needs to piss in all four corners of the pitch before he does anything. Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I was informed last night that this is our worst start to a season in 50 years. 50. To cheer me up further, I was then informed it ended in relegation. It's cost me a fookin' fortune in beer bets. I can't see where the next goals coming from, let alone a win. I spent most of yesterday organising & arranging details for Blackpool, Bournemouth, Watford & Boro away, can someone please remind why? My current hangover has me on a downer with our current state of affairs, listening to all & sundry talking about sacking DF depressed me immensely. Knight was substituted, this makes me smile, a lot. I'm going back to bed. Quote

MalcolmW Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 has any team ever won the league or been promoted with the start we have had ?????? Of the 9 winners since the Championship adopted that name, 3 were leading after six matches, another was second, and 2 were fifth. The other 3 were 17th (Sunderland), 21st (also Sunderland) and 23rd (Reading - of course). 2 of the runners-up led after 6 matches, 3 were second, 2 fourth, 1 eighth (Norwich) and 1 tenth (Stoke). The highest placed play-off winners were fourth (West Ham and Watford), one was ninth (also West Ham), three were 12th (Blackpool, Burnley and Hull), one 13th (Swansea), one 16th (Palace) and one 19th (Derby). In 2006-07 two of the promoted teams were in the bottom 6 after six matches. Quote

Rembrandt Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 it'll be interesting to see tuesdays team when presumably medo and beckford will be available for selection These two were on the bench yesterday and came on as subs, Cas. Are you being sarcastic (I'm a bit slow today) ? Quote
Rembrandt Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Those stats at least gives us a glimmer of hope. Don't get ahead of yourself, Mounts. Let's fight out of the relegation zone first. Oh, sorry. Did I say 'fight' ?? Quote

Rembrandt Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I've spoken to two entirely different people today who were at the match yesterday. Both thought "we played well". I've searched my memory of the afternoon, and I just don't get it. Maybe I dozed off for 90 minutes or so. Quote
snowball Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 We could do with a player like that Leeds no8 yesterday Quote
MalcolmW Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 How many of them couldn't defend or attack? None of them combined inability to score with inability to keep a clean sheet. Quote

White Shirt Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Don't understand why he brought Medo on when we were looking for an equaliser, Moritz must one unfit lad. His pass to Beckford at Tranmere was the quality that we were missing yesterday, and have done all season. Absolute no idea in the final 3rd Quote
