I heard someone say on the radio today that although Zat Knight's playing poorly at the moment, he's not as bad as people make out. But maybe he's just been at the club for too long and needs a new challenge. I reckon there's something in that. Made me wonder whether the same might be true about Gartside.

 

I'm not knocking him. Personally I reckon he's done a grand job too, but maybe we just need a change of perspective. Just a thought like.

It would have helped if Knight had got the ball out for a throw-in instead of conceding a soft corner. We defended that one - just about - but at the cost of a 2nd corner. Then a free header from about 8 yards. Not that I'm blaming Knight for the other crap 94 minutes.

A couple of points from my first home game:

 

Spearing gives the ball away a lot.

Tierney can put a good cross in.

Only ream can hold his head high after that game.

Nats statue looks ace.

Ngogs first touch today was wank.

Its no coincidence that Mills sliced the ball at least 5 times today.

I'm not looking forward to Derby seen as they put 5 past Millwall.

Need to get some bodies in the box as well though. Aiming for a lone striker rarely comes off, and Pratley and Beckford both seemed to keep going for the front post second half, leaving no bugger coming at the back post. Was annoyed with Chungy in particular for trying to shoot instead of crossing, but I'm mystified why we didn't get the ball to Hall more often.

Our clubs on its arse. Love the badge love the town lets go to the match and support who we are!! The players and managers will come and go an we are going to struggle for a few years but as long as we as fans have passion for Bolton it should make no difference. Prem or league 2 as long as our town has a team we will be there!!! Bolton and proud!!

We've a worrying look of Wolves about us, a mix of overpaid shite with a negative attitude we can't palm off on anybody and some pretty moderate cast-offs from other clubs mostly in the same Division as us.

I have been reasonably impressed with ream the last few games. He plays it simple and is busy. A good attacking option for me today was tierney, he put 3 good balls in the box, but no one was there. Too little in support of the ball going forward for me. We just don't look dangerous enough.
