Sweep Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Zaha man of the match for the munichs last night They've now decided to send him to us Chortle He'll also be on about £40K per week as well I would have thought (perhaps more) - there is surely no way on earth we would be paying close to that I wouldn't have thought. I don't see that Zaha would be dropping a division, if he's not playing for United, he'll end up at somewhere like Newcastle on loan, certainly not here Quote

waffer cup 07 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 According to Daily Mirror we won't be offering him a permanent contract. Quote
boltonian67 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 We need a minimum of 4 strikers to start the season, if we sign Mason that would help, but if we are to play just the 1 up front then we need a player in the younger Kevin Davies mould to lead the line. I still cannot believe we let Jutz slip through our fingers. Quote
Sweep Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 . I still cannot believe we let Jutz slip through our fingers. Indeed, we should have been round there at the end of the season and made him sign for us Quote
Guest bwfcdan Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Zaha man of the match for the munichs last night They've now decided to send him to us Chortle It's an long shot (extremely), but we can dream Ibe at Liverpool possibly. Quote
only1swanny Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Mason Davies Beckford and a young one. . Not that bad. . It's the lone man effort that killed us last year. Quote
jules_darby Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Mason Davies Beckford and a young one. . Not that bad. . It's the lone man effort that killed us last year Yeah but it's about playing the right ones together Mason and Beckford both seem suited to playing with a foil That could be Davies; but so far he's not appeared very good at it My fear is that unless we play differently, or have another lad up top who can hold it up you may see the first Mason on loan rather than the second.... And I would fear greatly for our retention of the ball from up top Quote

I with you on the juke he wanted to come he knew that he was key to the style DF wants to play ok he was a little more expensive than we wanted to pay but who's to say we can get anyone to do the job he did cheaper everything else is in place for a good season except the focal point of how we want to play. I'm at a loss to explain the decision not to sign him or even to bid for him. Edited July 31, 2014 by Mounts Kipper Quote

I'm at a loss to explain the decision not to sign him or even to bid for him. We couldn't afford the fee once Burnley and their Prem cash came in. I think that's been pretty much understood by all for some time. If you can't afford a new car, you buy a second hand one. Or a Kia. Running a football club is no different to running your personal finances. Unless you happen to be Portsmouth with Harry Redknapp at the helm. You buy the best you can afford. For us that is someone cheaper or a season long loan or two. Not having a go at all, but we need to move on from the Juke. He had a good run with us, that pushed up his value. That's the gamble. On the plus side, it showed Dougie had the ability to spot a diamond in the rough, hopefully he knows one or two more. Quote

I'm at a loss to explain the decision not to sign him or even to bid for him. If we had another 5000 season tickets sold then maybe we could have paid the fee. Even if Burnley hadn't come in we might have missed out on him to Derby. We are having to live within our means now. The stark reality of that is that we miss out even on the likes of Jutz Quote
passmosster Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 If you play one up there's no point in signing Mason, just as there was no point in signing Beckford who I've yet to remember winning a header in a white shirt. Quote

tylswhite Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 3-5-2 is the future To be fair I reckon we could do alright out of that with the players we have if we can get Mason to play up with Beckford. Quote
