tarian1979 Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Just back from alehouse. Has he gone yet????? Quote
Zico Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/11442798.Dougie_Freedman_believes_he_still_has_board_backing_at_Wanderers/ Well at least he's confirmed what he's been asked to do Reduce the wage bill And take the club forward So now we know Quote
Rembrandt Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Except we're not going forward ..................... in any recognisable version of the word. Quote
jules_darby Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 And let's make sure there's clarity Resuce the wage bill AND move the club forward Which indicates clearly that by simply rescuing the wage bill, this doesn't move the club forward so there are other goals 1) he and the board have done 2) they've clearly failed. Badly Sack the useless fuck Quote
tarian1979 Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Fuck Off Douglas you moron. As someone said look at millwall, reducing the wage bill is no excuse. Useless cunt Quote

scallywell Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Just go Douglas I hate the way he is getting hounded out Bolton style,it's not worked out for him but I think he's tried Quote
Rembrandt Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Just go Douglas I hate the way he is getting hounded out Bolton style,it's not worked out for him but I think he's tried He's certainly tried our patience for nearly 2 years. If the fans want a failing manager replaced after nearly 2 years in the job, how is that "hounded out Bolton style" ? You seriously think that no other club's fans get fed up of a failing manager and want him out ? ManU and Moyes, to name but one of many many. Quote
only1swanny Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 2 years is ample. No improvement last year on his first and after having a full year, should be able to hit the ground running Quote
zurichwhite Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I'm also in the camp that wanted him out before Christmas last year. There's a lot of talk about no money and no more signings but didn't he bring in about 5 in the summer. With this squad managed properly, we shouldn't be where we are, simply as. Quote
mourinho Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 There are very few in the pro manager camp, it's been evident for several weeks that the scales have tipped, and the voices of dissent are louder than the end of the Coyle or Megson era's. Rightly so, the football and results eclipse either of those. The board need to do the right thing. Bring in Phil Brown, he has the pedigree, plus his motivation for the Bolton job will add another 15% to any desire a manager would bring. We don't need a flavour of the month or the next big thing (why the fuck do people want Steve Clarke, what has he ever done?), we need experience, someone who has done it, and understands our club. Remember when we brought a certain Sam Allardyce from the lower leagues. Quote
superjohnmcginlay Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 If he does go whoever comes in will only suffer the same abuse Don't think folk realise the knock on effect they have with it, It's not a good place to be at, Yes frustration and anger needs to be vented course it does, but we boo a player in fooking friendlies for fucks sake then we wonder why they clap other fans etc, Pratley had it last year, Quote
birch-chorley Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I think your right regarding new players coming in and turning to shit. I think it's less to do with getting boo'd during games. There is only 90 minutes on the pitch every week so the opportunity to boo is limited really in the grand scheme of things. The culture within the squad and staff must be shocking. The dead wood rub off on the fresh meat and it's contagious. I've worked in offices when the company was struggling and the atmosphere was sceptic and contagious. I can only imagine that's where our squad is at. Not good, needs a big turn around!!! Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) Top brass were at the game yesterday reading between the lines I think he's got 3 games he's said as much in his post match interview - I'd take any credible candidate over freedman all would take is get the defence tighter pick a way to play and keep a settled side it's obvious - I would say though jiminho is bottom of my list but if he came in I'd gladly back him all the way but I think we need someone the players would look up to and have belief in from day one Edited August 31, 2014 by onlyoneawalker Quote
Ghana White Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 My problem is that I don't mind slow progress and taking on a job as a long term project. However I can't see any progress or long term goal besides reduce the wage bill. I think its a tough job working under financial constraints at a club used to top division football but he doesn't appear up to it. We're having the same conversations we had a year a go. I worry where we go from here and I don't know if we have the finance to sack him but you can't keep him just because you worry about the alternative and if we're in this position at Christmas then financially we've got to get rid. But we havent played well with any regularity.I can understand that cutting the wages leaves you with 'inferior' players to what you had but id at least like them to be able to look like they know what they're doing. If we're shit and going down id at least like to go down fighting Quote

I can understand that cutting the wages leaves you with 'inferior' players to what you had but id at least like them to be able to look like they know what they're doing. If we're shit and going down id at least like to go down fighting I can accept being inferior ability wise due to cutting costs etc. Most of the time we have always had limited players anyway apart from the golden era. What there is no excuse for is being a disorganised mess. Ive watched a lot of live football the last couple of weeks and ive not seen a team looking as badly lacking in direction as we have. Quote
COYW Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 There's plenty of teams in the Championship with 'inferior' players. That's no excuse. It's not like we're competing with a load of other teams that have spent millions. Quote

Mounts Kipper Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 He was there plus Brett Warby Interesting maybe just maybe there beginning to show a bit of interest in the way the manager running the ship. Quote
