October 6, 201411 yr Sorry - not read that, please point me in that direction. Someone posted that Brown had been very critical of the club when SA left. The fact that we have had 5 managers since and Brown, assistant to two of our best recent managers, isn't one of them would suggest that Gartside took the criticism to heart or simply doesn't rate him. That's to say he is interested in the job in the first place.
October 6, 201411 yr Mowbray wouldn't excite me. I wouldn't be disappointed with him either. Kind of like the Ford Focus of managers.
October 6, 201411 yr Mowbray wouldn't excite me. I wouldn't be disappointed with him either. Kind of like the Ford Focus of managers. That's were I am it with it, his teams do usually play some nice attractive stuff. Whether he can teach them lot to pass is another matter
October 6, 201411 yr Mackay for me - if he is interested, then it's a one horse race! It would be interesting to see a section of our fans reaction, given that they staged a protest over the QuidQuid sponsorship deal
October 6, 201411 yr Happy with Mowbray. Father in law is a West Brim fan and was gutted when he left. He got rid of Bryan Robson's shite which bodes well for us, signed a few players who are still in the West Brim first team. He also plays decent stuff and is supposedly quite entertaining in interviews.
October 6, 201411 yr Brown dislikes gartside greatly, huge allowances need to be made for him to get the job
October 6, 201411 yr Who was mowbrays back room team at boro? Was mark Venus one? And did Curtis Fleming leave boro back room to work wi Dougie?
October 6, 201411 yr Strange one with Mowbray if you do a little digging he seems to have good words said about him and gained abit of respect but without doing a great deal on his cv.
October 6, 201411 yr I wouldn't do cartwheels over Mowbray but then again thinking that he turned Boro round from a similar position is probably a steady pair of hands, is available probably means he ticks some boxes as far as Gartside is concerned. Probably would work with Jimmy Phillips too. Which I suspect might be another condition for any new manager rather than a lot of backroom appointments. I can add that after speaking to a member of staff Jimmy isn't in contention for anything. 4 he club haven't spoke to him or anyone since the sacking even to say he wasn't getting the temporary job. Very poor feeling around the set up about that
October 6, 201411 yr Neil Lennon would cause rather a stir / stink wouldn't he I'd sooner have... Well anyone really
October 6, 201411 yr Freedman was that bad I managed to suggest Neil Lennon about 3 times without a lynch mob turning up Pah
October 6, 201411 yr Freedman was that bad I managed to suggest Neil Lennon about 3 times without a lynch mob turning up Pah you likkul tinker you
October 6, 201411 yr NB, you had best dust the pitchforks off, just in case Lennon is appointed I'll be painting swear words on my best Egyptian cotton too if that fucker turns up
October 6, 201411 yr Not sure about Mowbray, his sides have always played decent stuff but not convinced that's what we need at this time. Mackay had serious backing at Cardiff to get them up. I know he did a decent job at Watford too, but can't really remember the circumstances. Lennon is unproven... Winning the SPL with Celtic counts for fuck all, especially with a Rangers out of the way, and would be a massive gamble, though can't imagine him putting up with any shite. I'd go for Hughton, did a decent job at Birmingham with the transfer emargo and when they were skint. Did ok at Newcastle too... just feels like a good fit for me.

October 6, 201411 yr Bit namby bamby for me always seems to be a bit of a hard luck story Got booted at Norwich for being tactically inept and negative. Might be a good fit for us on that basis.
October 6, 201411 yr Who was mowbrays back room team at boro? Was mark Venus one? And did Curtis Fleming leave boro back room to work wi Dougie? Mark Venus and Peter Grant are his usual "team" so an old gold shithouse and one of lennons mob that'll go down well!! I think grants at villa now though
