Mounts Kipper Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 More likely to end up at T'Roverrrs if Venkys get impatient with Bowyer not having them in the play-off frame Let's hope so. Quote
Rembrandt Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere, but Sir Alex might be bored enough by now. Quote
freds dad Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere, but Sir Alex might be bored enough by now. I'd rather have a Megson / Coyle / Freedman trio running the club before that whisky nosed cnut. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 The one thing I could see with Malkie is that if we got him our loans from Cardiff being mysteriously recalled overnight Are there recall clauses? Genuinely don't know. Quote

gonzo Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Tony Mowbray firm favourite now. I don't think I'd mind that to be honest. I've got it in my head he's pretty negative although I've no base to that whatsoever. Quote

jules_darby Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Mowbray wasn't really a roaring success at Celtic or Boro I think this is the type of appointment we should expect Be interesting to see if he could get our lot passing and moving I suppose Quote
jayjay Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Every Mowbray team I've seen have knocked it about well. He'll have a job on with our lot though. They have spent the last couple of years learning how to play without the ball! I think he'd do a good job for us. Quote

mannyroad58 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Whoever it turns out to be lets hope he/she is appointed soon so he/she has 2 weeks to knock them into shape Just trying to be PC Quote
HoldensHairdo Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 The whole 'Phil Brown' rumour scares me to death - and it stinks of a Gartside appointment to 'get the fans onside' - just think that we should be setting our sights a little higher than PB ! Quote

Zico Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Mowbray wasn't really a roaring success at Celtic or Boro I think this is the type of appointment we should expect Be interesting to see if he could get our lot passing and moving I suppose no, though that's the reason why he's out of work and in the frame - of those who are, the fact his teams go out to play that way makes him seem like someone to take the team in a new direction and if PPG / win percentages are owt to by, even his time at Boro was more of a success than our previous 3 managers he went to Boro when they were struggling and kept them up - so if he can at least do that again with some decent football on the way, I'll be happy Quote
Zico Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Why is 'Phil Brown' in single quotes??? it's probably not literally Phil Brown, or whatever it is the kids say these days Quote

Not Phil Brown, please!! Tony Mowbray firm favourite now. I don't think I'd mind that to be honest. I've got it in my head he's pretty negative although I've no base to that whatsoever. Got a mate who's a Boro fan, he has no problems with Mowbray at all, said if they lost Karanka, he'd have no problem having him back. Quote

Guest Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) Someone I know who used to work in the club, yesterday said they had heard that Mowbray was high on the list because he took over at Boro when they were in the bottom three in October and took them to mid table safety. Mind this person was also adamant that Steve Bruce was getting the job a while back so perhaps not to be trusted. I wouldn't do cartwheels over Mowbray but then again thinking that he turned Boro round from a similar position is probably a steady pair of hands, is available probably means he ticks some boxes as far as Gartside is concerned. Probably would work with Jimmy Phillips too. Which I suspect might be another condition for any new manager rather than a lot of backroom appointments. Edited October 6, 2014 by bwfcfan5 Quote

Cost a few goals at the other end, but it made for entertaining stuff. Edited October 6, 2014 by Leyther_Matt Quote
