Looking at it from further away, just stop yellowing folk for removing their shirt- doesn't actually harm anyone. Perhaps issue a yellow for celebrating for too long, or being a dick in front of away fans, but just removing a shirt is harmless. Quote

Also, loads were wearing scrotie messages inderneath.. Either way, it's a rule, everyone knows it, don't do it. Not difficult. A player (can't recall who) in the Premiership did it last year, booked, 3 minutes later fouled someone, sent off. Quote
Big E Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 When did the premier league get good again. Both games pretty decent today Quote
Moderators Casino Posted September 4, 2022 Moderators Posted September 4, 2022 Re var Somebody has a goal ruled out in the first minute, the ball doesnt go out of play til half time when var decides it was a goal. Do they replay the last 44 minutes? Quote
radcliffe white Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 First proper test for Arsenal and they look a little shaky Quote

I think VAR would notify the referee that they were checking the decision at the point it is ruled out and play wouldn't commence again until the checks had been completed. Quote
Marc505 Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Only themselves to blame here Arsenal, been the better side for most of it then crumbled. Martin Tyler's puns are absolutely shite. Quote

Farrelli Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Re VAR. Nothing wrong with it in theory but the way it is implemented by the Premier league is absolute nonsense. How can they say that Bowen fouled Chelsea’s keeper, are they blind? Similarly shocking for the Newcastle one. Quote

Ani Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 The VAR deduction in the United game to disallow the Arsenal goal at 0-0. It was probably a foul but was it enough to reverse the decision ? Probably not. It is a real mess and Riley is not held accountable is a joke. Quote

Just use a bit of common sense, rescind his yellow for shirt removal but warn him what will happen if he does it again. I've never worked out why players remove their shirts when they score. I don't remember it happening before about 20 years ago yet now they can't help themselves, just wierd. I don't recall a BW player doing it, if anyone did I'd guess at Diouff. I'd like to think we have more dignity! I'm also proud that we don't sink to rehearsed celebrations. Quote

Apparently there is no real rationale for FIFA law makers, the International Football Association Board (IFAB) to have ever introduced the law. https://footballhandbook.com/why-do-players-get-booked-for-taking-their-shirts-off/ Quote
