I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

He’s not though, has he?

Nobody with a billion dollar budget has Ollie Palmer up front.

But we didn’t play, so you needed to get your attention one way or another. And you succeeded, so there you go.

Do you only post here to get attention? Sounds a bit sad.

4 wins  in a row and 4 clean sheets in a row for Wrexham. Bolton who according to some have the best centre half in the league have kept 3 clean sheets in the 17 league matches this season.

Mark Howard in goal.

I’m thinking more wrexham and Stockport and Birmingham winning. That gap to the top two is looking insurmountable to me.

Huddersfield are the ones for me, I think they'll go up automatically but I'm not sure with who, Birmingham not as good as made out to be. Maybe Wycombe stick it out.

Whatever happens those playoffs spots are much harder than the last 2 years.

Are they balls.

Well we're 11-0 down on aggregate against Brum, Hudd & Stockport :D

They spent less than us this summer.

Agreed, that Wrexham squad looks pretty poor on paper. Not many of theirs you'd swap for ours, but I'd take their mentality straight away

Aye. Probably.

Just keeping up the spirits.

Plenty of games between the top teams to come, so we never can know for sure.

We tatered Reading, who held Wycombe, so we must be the best in the league! 😁

It really is & best wishes to him.

The photo of the car suggests he's spun off & hit a tree right on the drivers door. Proper wrecked.

Very pleased he's survived to this extent. Time will reveal what injuries he has.

2 games in hand on Wrexham

On paper we're still well in it with 29 games left

Unfortunately football isn't played on paper

Yep.

Quite glad today's was postponed, as it would have been a soggy pitch, howling gale, and a lottery.

Obviously Mullin and Lee would walk into most L1 teams.  Santos and Baxter would walk into any team in L1, IMO.

Hard to think of any other player we have that Parky would pick above their players, as the emphasis for them is on physicality and being solid and organised, its not like he's going to have a Schon or Sheehan in his team.  And up front Marriot, Fletcher, Palmer are going to be picked every time over our weaker strikers.  Just different styles, and their's is proving more effective clearly.

All the talk of finishing top 2, or play offs and the points gained or dropped by others.

All I want is for us to go toe to toe with a decent team to be going on with!  Unless its possible to get promoted without competing in any 6 pointers.  And that's not to say I don't appreciate and enjoy every single win, but what Wrexham and Birmingham do isn't relevant to our progress.

Edited by Johnnyrotten

All I want is for us to care more about keeping clean sheets and not tossing cheap goals away every week. Over the last five years only one of the 10 automatically promoted sides has conceded more than a goal a game. We've shipped 27 already, while not exactly being cavalier at the other end (only scored the same as dull, dour Wrexham).

Quelle surprise. Red Mancs being beguiled by Hollywood glitz and glamour.

Glazers in.

Top 2 is far beyond us this season. Just getting play offs will be a stretch.

What a job Parky is doing at Wrexham though. Getting that group of journeymen to continually grind out wins

It isn’t beyond us…. Wrexham seem to be scraping most games 1-0 even against the likes of Burton, can’t see them lasting the course, but should be top 6, be surprised if Wycombe keep it up. Im thinking it’s still brum for title and us and Huddersfield for second.

I like the optimism but are you really thinking we'll start beating the better teams to get up near the top 2?

If so what's changing versus so far this season (and previous seasons)?

Fwiw scraping 1 nil wins away at Burton during a storm is exactly what you do if you're serious about promotion (we haven't won there the last 3 seasons)
