I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Amazing. As you said great game. Simeone is the embodiment of a great manager. He consistently delivers results against teams with better players. Maybe a bad example tonight as it’s their first win in 18 years at Barca.

I love the style of football too as they play to their strengths and are the best they can be.

The Barca v Inter semi under Mourinho was one of the best masterclasses I have seen in defending and being at your best.

Barca play some good stuff though. They’d wind me up no end though.

Pisses me off when natural skill is coached out of players to fit a wanky system

Something English football did for years in favour of super fit automatons who could get box to box for hours irrespective of whether a ball was involved or not.

Absolutely agree.

Kids here are coached to death. Every school holiday, for weeks, they're guided by self-appointed coaches with their Sports Science degrees on Soccer Skills Courses.

They do warm ups, job & sprint round cones, can't begin to function without 'bib' on.

The days of 18 a side, or 4 a side ... flying keepers, next goal wins, jumpers for goalposts on any available bit of grass are gone and it's a huge shame.

Just fckg play, enjoy yourselves.

See, I think that is similar to what happened with Morley.

I think there's a massive danger of Bolton fans turning Morley into Zidane.

Bloke wasn't good enough to get in what our fans reckon is a shit midfield.

The job he's doing at Wycombe is the same job as Sheehan does for us ie takes it from keeper/defence and passes it on. Morley has looked better at Wycombe, because he receives the ball earlier and is therefore able to get rid quicker before he gets marked/clattered.

If he came back to us and replaced Sheehan, he's also get kicked to fuck like Josh does. Plus Sheehan is a better all round player with the ball.

Carry on clapping ya Jeb.

Pep's influence is one of the worst things to happen to English football

I think this time though, with Morley playing every match in the position he is best at (in front on the back four) and a manager who trusts him, he is showing the potential of what he could have become, but I also take your point that we do make him seem the best thing since sliced bread. If he comes back, he'll be a better player

Maybe, though he was more of a positional change.

Morley was made to be better defensively, which unfortunately seemed to hold back his natural game, and he was less effective at both!

Wonder if Pep stays when they get relegated to the northwest counties ?

They've got 20m+ pitch time left. Could be 3-3. 🤣

67,000+ the BEEB said.

It now says 58,000. Do they count them out as they leave early ?

New manager honeymoon at Ruud Van Nistelrooy's Leicester didn't last long.

of all the games

i put Everton on

0-0

Superb a few of em have been slapping their todges about since they beat Man City. Good to see 2 defeats and 7 goals since

Funny how a caretaker manager gets hold of Southampton, they cut out the risk and mistakes, keep a very rare clean sheet. Simple game, football, being hugely overcomplicated.

None of which is relevant to my post.

Rightly, he was asked to work on the defensive side of his game.

Didn't work, and spoiled his game.

Was right that he went out.

That's all it was, and in response to the comments about thunder calves.

Whether he is good enough overall is a different matter and is open to debate- though Evatt rewarded him with a good contract, so perhaps feels there is something there.

Sheehan also can't tackle a good dinner, and the two of them were found out when playing together.

Wycombe have done well with him too.

Well they did come up against a new manager to be fair

So did Bournemouth! 🤣

Certainly didn't expect that result.

Just need spurs to do something similar to the scousers now, and all told, it won't have been to bad a set of results.

Looks like the scousers are going to be the champions this season.

Just can't see arsenal quite getting there, again, and Chelsea maybe not quite at Liverpool's level, but here's hoping.

True, Wolves (and Southampton) were never going to lose today, but still 7 goals conceded without reply in 2 games in last few days.
