I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

He's behind you.

Incredible result for Scotland tonight. Nowhere near their best. Robertson and McTominay were poor but John McGinn kept them going and despite being dominated, they got over the line. Beat whipping boys Belarus and they’re going to the World Cup.

Let's hope not. It would be a shame to mess up their imposing record.

Posted these before but these vids are ace.

Yup - for a population just over half that of London they’ve done pretty well- although their record against England is far better than their record in the World Cup and Euros - perhaps because it’s “personal”?
Not that England have a particularly good record.

Don't think the architect studied cantilever at college.

They’ve got some great talent in the squad, but were way off last night & got lucky. Steve Clarke stifles them imo, he plays like they’re a squad of Championship players & not top level Seria A and PL . There’s a cracking striker at Hibs who deserves more game time as well. But Clarke won’t risk it. They should be qualifying at least, but I doubt Clarke’s the manager to take them past the groups.

Would love them to qualify. Always prefer watching home nation teams during the WC qualifiers, it’s just so much more exciting than England. Enjoying the NI game now as well. Superb first half for them against a top Slovak team.

Still a chance Wales, NI & Scotland could all qualify. Be great if they did but they can get to fck when the WC kicks off 😄

I had to laugh at this from Tuchel.  Which bit of "its a friendly against a 2nd rate nation" does he not get? (and that's no disrespect to Wales).

I'm sure the German fans usually sound like Argentina 78 when they're 3-0 up v Slovakia.

Or name any club side in the UK and listen to that atmosphere for a friendly against a team 2 divisions below.

Sorry just read ref to it on the England thread, I can't be arsed moving it but noted it's already been discussed!

Denmark are currently top, only one qualifies automatically.

Brilliant performance by N Ireland tonight who fully deserved a cracking 2-0 win over Slovakia and Bradders was just terrific all through. Toal didn’t get any time and Dion only 20 minutes at the end but he never really got a touch. Top of their group now I believe and on that performance every chance of making it through.

Germany are top

That penalty against Wales is a disgrace. I hope we never have to deal with VAR, it’s a shambles, but even so it’s down to the ref to determine it. He looked at 1 slow mo replay and couldn’t wait to get the whistle to his lips.

I don’t care if it’s Wales, the game’s gone.

Cracking game… Germans look a bit rattled. But class team.

Fair play to NI they gave it a good go even without Bradley, very good young team they could shock a few teams over the next few years.

I wish watching Bolton games was like watching paint dry. Happy to be bored stiff if it means we're 3-0 up at half time.

Mad there's EFL cup and FA cup games on tonight while England are on.

Who the fuck is going to Blackpool v Forest under 21s tonight :D

Not England's fault.

After having that early goal ruled out, they had to work hard to get that first, but they stuck at it, and got the deserved lead.

After that they didn't let up, and were excellent.

I thought they had settled for 4 as the clock ticked down, but fair play to the subs.

Won't be when we are playing Spain. Germany, Italy, Argentina etc.

These group games are a no win situation for the manager and team as far as critics are concerned.

Nothing conceded yet in this campaign and already qualified.

Works for me.

Non events these games against minnows, as TMGJ said not England’s fault. Let’s hope we can take it to some of the top teams in the finals.

Same as every recent qualification campaign. Coast through to the finals and come unstuck when we have to play the proper teams.
