It was probably a factor but Slot doesn't seem to be sure what he wants in that position, brought Frimpong in, doesn't play him, ends up with Szoboslai at RB, a bit of a waste

Highlighted it on MOTD no matter who they play there they're often left 2v1 as Salah doesn't track back and the tweak to midfield means no one is coming over to help out.

I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Echoes of what we have.

Great having those attacking wide players, but they have to be on it.

If not then the full backs can be exposed to 2 on 1 situations.

Lucky lad. Expecting a big reaction to an unlucky defeat in Milan.

Hope so as it's the last leg of a so far successful 4 timer!

Forza Napoli!

Well mate, I hope you enjoyed the atmosphere. Thought it was a poor game.

Once Lobotka went off (makes them tick) I thought it might be difficult for them. Factor in Anguissa (who at least got the equaliser) and Neres consistently giving away possession as aimlessly as Starmer overseas aid, I feared the worst. Happy they came away with the win for more than one reason!

Once De Bruyne came on, the game changed. Started to boss midfield and had multiple chances as you would have seen.

Another Ewood crowd boosted yesterday by nearly 4,000 Stoke fans, in a crowd of just over 14,000. Could this be the season. No win in the last 5 games and in the bottom 4.

I would love it, but I think the big chance was missed the other year when they stayed up on the last day.

Exactly as I saw it. Definitely not a game you'd go back and watch again but enjoyed it anyway. Lobotka is a class act. Really good atmosphere, makes you wonder what sort of noise them ultras could make in a closed in modern stadium. Good to be able to have a drink outside the ground and that without any mither. Queuing to get in is the only downside, reckon thousands miss KO every week. Went for a cracking meal in the Spanish quarter when we got back into the City centre. Top day.

Glad you had an enjoyable time mate. Satisfying result even if the game was disappointing. A few extra dollars in the account is always welcome. Off to our favourite Italian on the CDS tonight to celebrate.

Napoli is an amazing city. That 'see Naples and die' saying is very accurate. Absolute beauty to simmering menace to the fabulously wealthy and dirt poor living side by side. Contrasts everywhere.

First job for me any time I am there is an authentic Margherita pizza. No other comes close to the place they were invented.

You've clearly never been to Salvo's in Headingley.

Correct sir. Wouldn't waste my time when I get the original and best.

Or were you referring the the Salvation Army Citadel?

See we've qualified now for knockout round of the EFL Trophy with Rotherham's late comeback win v Oldham, 1 point needed for first also with a good goal difference, may rest a lot v Oldham next month.

Is the Rotherham v city game before ours ? If they draw, we are top without playing.

I don't think it'll make any difference at all to the side picked.  There is always rotation, and games given to those not starting - we know who they are.  And we could be guaranteed a place in the final and SS would still want to win each game as they come up, it all goes on the record and works towards good habits and all that.  And anyway, there was never any doubt we'd qualify, there never is.

On another note, FA Cup qualifiers end this weekend so presume 1st round draw is Sunday or Monday.

Couple of "easy" home ties to give the bench a run out then a plum PL tie and I'm happy

I won't go the easy home ties

Just the PL one if it's a decent away or a big one at home and not on TV at some stupid time

Its worth getting to the 2nd round just to avoid a December weekend with no game.
