The same Man City who didn't have to bother playing in this round of matches because they finished in the top 8? Shame you can't cheer on Napoli as they couldn't even finish above the likes of Paphos or Carrier Bag. Ah well, you've still got one team left to support in Sporting. ... Then again, there's always a chance of having a side to cheer on if you're a supporter of a dozen or so teams. 👍 Quote

Sky pay to broadcast scheduled midweek games for x amount. ( a total of y games). If a game originally scheduled for the weekend is postponed and then played in midweek, they have not paid to broadcast that game, and have no rights to broadcast it. They can't simply just then show it, without getting their arses sued. Quote

Sky’s deal obligates them to cover all matches in the deal, some of which may cost more than the value of the viewer numbers. The totality of the deal reflects all costs and benefits, to both parties. Additional matches should be negotiated on their merits. And, I assume, a single League One on a Tuesday night, where they already have product availability is probably not worth it. Quote

Whitesince63 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Good to see Oxford get beat again tonight at Stoke and looking more and more likely to go down which if we were to pass them on the way up would be some kind of Karma. I still believe knobling Paris after a couple of minutes cost us that game at Wembley rather than anything else and if they come down we could maybe get Cameron Brannigan off them who I think would be brilliant here? Liverpool spent £3.5m on Phil Babb To buy it then surely they would have to be outspending everyone else that season Think the likes of Henning Berg, Tim Sherwood and David Batty cost fuck all Shearer was signed in 1992, Flowers in 1993 and ok Sutton the season they won it, and you would say those three were the big money signings The whole bought the league thing is just jealousy that a local businessman was happy to fund his unfashionable team to win the league Which as fans we would all love, surely? gonzo Posted February 26 Posted February 26 We had our own benefactor that took us into Europe twice. Thinks it more like paid for them to be equals rather than bought the league if that makes sense. Same as Wrexham. Quote

They look decent, have done for a couple of months. Mind you Rob Edwards a bit embarrassing with the over the top celebrations, I'd get it if they had a chance of stopping up. When we were rock bottom in 1980 we had the good grace to be very half hearted when we got a decent result 😀 (we beat good Forest and Spurs teams when virtually relegated, they didn't prompt a lap of honour) Quote
Whitesince63 Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Cracking goal by McGoldrick for Barnsley at Orient just shows everything we’re missing, coolness and composure just stroking it in. 13 goals now this season. Quote
