Yeah i used to live and work in Liverpool. I'd say the hatred is as much as the Manc derby. Everton fans despise Liverpool. Liverpool fans treat Everton with arrogant disdain, that's how they treat fans of all clubs though to be fair.. The media presentation of it as the friendly derby is bollocks.

There welcome to it stupid money for tickets, very few local games/ good days out, meaningless games in the early stages of champions league, probably only 7-8 games a season that they can lose the others walk overs in general over the premiership minnows, it's anti football and against nearly everything that made me a football fan in the first place.
