bolty58 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 He's really rattled Van Gaal, he was clearly losing it as he tried to explain about the long ball play in the game. He's not far off a Keegan rant, well done BFSA, keep It up Looking at Van Gaals hooter, I wouldn't have thought owt could get up it. Big Sam has managed it without a problem. We have never recovered from his leaving. Quote
pato Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Van Gaal is so arrogant he makes Fergie look humble Quote
Rembrandt Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Just seen that on ssn. Fucking hell chill out Louis haha. Sam's really got to him there with the long ball stuff. Good lad. Made me laugh. How is he daft enough to rise to BSA's dig. Quote
barryk32 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Just watched it. Spud head will be sat at home fucking roaring with laughter, Quote
GeorgeOghani'sIroningBoard Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Now Allardyce says he is the most sophisticated coach in the Premier League. People with Scottish parents and raised in Dudley don't do sophisticated. Quote
mickbrown Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 One thing I've learned about Sam is it's all about Sam Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 It waa a tongue in cheek comment more aimed at sam's critics, journalists etc. Only the other week he admitted he went more direct to beat hull. He acknowledged that his team didn't cope and was ultimately justifying his own beliefs. Lvg made himself look a right cock. It was piss funny and sam will still be chuckling Quote
Cheese Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Fucking hell. Was he in the middle of a cocaine binge when he did this interview? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31394625 Quote
voodoo ray Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 What have united become, hahaha love it Quote
COYW Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Just had a look at what @TheBig_Sam had to say about it on Twitter. Sadly not up to his usual standard but this was: "I'm more dynamic than this Liverpool team, and I haven't moved since punk." When Stephen Hawking zings in a text, that cunt zings hard. Quote

kent_white Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 "I would be more suited to Inter Milan or Real Madrid," he said. "It wouldn't be a problem for me to manage those clubs because I would win the double or the league every time. "Give me Manchester United or Chelsea and I would do the same, it wouldn't be a problem." Quote
jturner Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 One thing I've learned about Sam is it's all about SamTo be fair who wouldn't be mightily confident if they got the results Sam Allardyce gets? 12,500 vs Fulham the other night, dismal gate wasn't it? We once got over 27,000 for a meaningless end of season match against Fulham under Sam. Over half our crowd have stopped going because its been a pile of shit since Sam left He was that good at managing Bolton. Quote

I'm seriously struggling to remember that. What I can remember is 17k on for a Fulham match with Anelka in the team. Quote

I miss bwfc stats :-( Quote
jules_darby Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Listening to that interview, Allardyce just threw the comment out there to illustrate how on top West Ham were and that Utd got desperate He hardly called them long ball merchants or went on about that bit Which tells you 2 things: 1) it wasn't a clever psychological ploy or owt 2) LVG is feeling the pressure to respond like that. He didn't put Sam "back in his box", he just seemed under pressure and desperste to retort Quote

Over half our crowd have stopped going because its been a pile of shit since Sam left He was that good at managing Bolton. A lot of our crowd stopped going whilst Allardyce was here. Yes he's a very good manager. But lets not overstate it. He's won nothing in a long managerial career. He's not got a side into the top 4. And whilst in his defence he's worked miracles at our place his work has been solid rather than brilliant elsewhere. Getting West Ham up was a great achievement, but he's spent a fair amount there and yes they're doing well this season but last season were pish. Blackburn he was solid at without inspiring. And Newcastle he angered the fans like Megson angered us. I like Sam, he probably should have got the England chance over McClaren because he was the better candidate. But his claims of being able to win the double every year with a top club just sound laughable. Anyone can say that. There are plenty of managers who have very good records at smaller clubs in general but doesn't mean they've made the step up. Would big name players at the highest level play for him? I have my doubts. Quote
davidjack Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 That game against Fulham was the last day of 2003-04 season - 27,383 and around 27k of those were home fans - so our biggest ever home crowd. Lost 2-0 (to 2 Brian McBride goals I seem to remember). That was our high point of attendances. Club got greedy the next season and put on the day prices up as high as 39 quid for some games. And dodgy TV started to really make an appearance in pubs...and then with our European tour the year after the money started to run out for a lot of folk. We can get it back though. NLSWA. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Just looked at the crowd stats for that 2003/04 season - our lowest gate was 23,098 against Charlton early in the season. Most gates were 26,000+, I didn't realise we were filling the place so often back then! Quote
MickyD Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 A measure is how empty the corners are with the exception of under the big telly. I chose to sit there but am often joined by away supporters doing their best to fit in... Except the daft cow who came in wearing a man u scarf! Quote

Anyone who can't see that he is the greatest manager we have had in the last half century is either in bitter denial or is a complete plantpot. That first sentence had to be read half a dozen times. snowball Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Still find it unbelievable that so many on here are so begrudging of Sam, who gave us the greatest times we are ever likely to see at BWFC. Incredibly seems to be the same ones who defend Megson! Almost as if they don't/didn't actually want us to be successful. He is a fantastic manager and for us he was the perfect fit. How can any Bolton fan be in denial? Those were golden years, with top players and I couldn't give a shite what type of bloke he is away from the football. That post from bwfcfan5 (you sure?) is unbelievable! Quote
